ADM Mount - Locking the lever forward?

ADM claims that you can either lock direction of lever to either forward or backward, but I can’t figure out how to change which direction the lever locks that without disassembling the mount.

Anything that I am missing, or will I have to take the mount apart?

You have to unthread the adjustment nut completely, pull the entire lever and cross screw out, rotate it 180 degrees, then reassemble.

I was hoping to avoid that, but I guess it is the only way.
