Adjustable Safety for Geissele

I just upgraded to a Geissele SSA-E from a mil-spec trigger and all I can say is wow, this thing is a work of art!

I also have a JP EZ Trigger in my other rifle and love the feel and lack of trigger play I get with the adjustable safety. However, this specific safety selector will not work with the SSA-E. I can make it work with a little modification, but I would much rather not have to modify parts if I don’t have to. I will if I have to though.

Anyone know of another adjustable safety that is actually worth it?

Contact Geissele…They are very helpfull and will get it figured out for you…

I don’t know about an adjustable safety, but you could never go wrong by dropping in a BAD ASS or better yet a BAD ASS ST.

I just filed off some material from the safety selector over the weekend. I really didn’t want to, but it is working just fine.

I can’t be the only person who thinks it’s a terrible idea to alter the saftey on a system that works. Especially a bubba job.

Nope. I had to Google “JP adjustable safety” I was like, “WTF?”

I think what the OP did was unnecessary and foolish, but hey, his rifle. Stacking tolerances in the selector makes him feel happy…more power to him. I’m curious, though, about the tight fit thing and how that will affect wear on the tail of the trigger. The weapon was designed for the selector detent to stop movement in each position, not friction against the trigger tail.

I’m inclined to agree.

All this safety selector does is limit the movement of the trigger when on safe. There is still a very small amount of play, adjusting to zero play would = friction on the trigger tail. There is no extra stress on any of the parts and it was not done to the point where it could fail. The safe position was not altered, only the fire position. This safety works fine on mil-spec trigger, so apparently the Geissele trigger tail is just a tad bit taller or requires a little extra travel than mil-spec.

I don’t know if y’all have seen the way this thing works, but what I did does not prevent the rifle from being safe or alter the integrity of any of the parts to point where failure is possible. All I did was give the trigger tail a little extra room to travel when on fire.

What gain or need does it address that hasn’t become readily apparent in the AR’s long combat history?
