Need help finding a Adj gas block low pro for a AR-10 if anyone knows of any or likes a sertin one over another please let me know.Thank You
I am using a Noveske switchblock on my Fulton Armory 308 upper. They are a 3 option switchable block with On, Off and Suppressed. Unfortunately they are currently only making them for .750 diameter barrels so your options are kind of limited. Novekse makes them in carbine, mid and rifle length available at Brownells:

The Switchblock designed for the AR-15 should not be used on a 7.62 AR. The gas tube is a different height and slightly longer in the AR-10.
I selected the JP Enterprise’s low profile adjustible gas block for my LR308. It fit well under the Daniel Defense Lite Rail. The only issue that I have experienced is that over time the screw slowly backs out. I’m in the process of modifying the setup and using a different screw drilled and cabled to the block to prevent unwanted rotation.
Here’s some pics …

How much longer are they? I don’t see any issues with the headspace and the bolt seems to full seat in the chamber.
The height is not a problem since the gas tube fits perfect in the fulton armory uppers gas hole and my handguard clears the gas tube as well. It doesn’t show any signs of unnormal wear and isn’t making contact with anything its not suppose to.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but the Fulton Armory is DPMS based and so runs a standard AR15 rifle gas tube. Armalite is the manufacturer that uses a different gas tube length.
dsteinert, does the gun run ok with the switchblock in both modes? What length barrel are you using, and did you have to modify anything (port size)?
The offset (put a 5.56 and 7.62 bolt carrier face to face and you can see the key is higher on the 7.62) means the gas tube is not straight and may bind in the key.
I was pointing out both issues, different length on some and different offset on all.
Also the Switchblock is not an adjustable gas block, it gets made with a second gas port at a specific size for a specific caliber, gas system length, and barrel length.
Gotcha; I hadn’t realized that; neither JP Enterprises (also straight tube), Armalite or DPMS sells or specifies different parts for 7.62 or 5.56 gas blocks or gas tubes (I see Armalite does have an AR10 specific tube I guess its an Armalite thing?). Anyway I am an industrious tinkerer and if it binds, a little bending should straighten it out LOL.
The port size on the suppressed setting is the key, I assume the unsuppressed setting is wide open with no restriction; not sure if there is a port size as haven’t seen the inside of one of these. I assume the suppressed setting port size would need to be modified for 308, unless someone has tested various ports already available on a 20" 7.62 rifle and found a working combination?
The gas tube rotates with the switch at different settings on the Switchblock so you can’t bend it.
What if I stepped it up using another tube and a manifold? Basically take another gas block behind the switchblock, drill a hole in the front all the way through, cut the switchblock tube to run into it from the front, the run a second “static” bendable tube into the receiver?
Or better yet, when are you going to make a 7.62 switchblock? ![]()
For what 7.62 AR?
What gas system length?
What buffer and spring should it be set for?
Should it be set to run optimally with good 308 or overgassed to run crap third world surplus?
No easy answers when dealing with the 7.62 AR.
No, there’s not. That’s why I am willing to tinker with it. I understand the lack of standards across brands makes any turn-key system like this difficult to R&D. To bad it cant be made as simple as re-jetting my dirt bike! Are the ports in the gas tube itself, so it rotates a specific port into alignment with the barrel port?
The gas tube and a drum rotate with the switch. The secondary port in in the drum.
Uppers and rifles are still on the table pending more testing but I don’t expect we would release a separate Switchblock for the reasons above.

Did I not read somewhere that the gasblock on that rifle was a one off?
Care to elaborate?
Thx.
It is a one off because Noveske wouldnt hurry up and make me a
SwitchBlock
