Adco’s cut this one back to 14.5" plus perm muzzle device:
The one above has an extra adapter put in there which graduates the look from skinny barrel to muzzle break and gives a shoulder to the muzzle device. They can also do it without the extra ‘hump piece’ in there…

What would this do to relaibility of the gas operation? I forget how the gas block settings are on the Sigs.
Would be interesting. With a collapsible stock, how does the length of a Sig 556 with a pinned 14.5 barrel compare to an AR SBR?

They have always been fundamentally solid guns. Sig fixed the main issue with the 556 (ugly furniture) when they put out the classic. They are a steal now at $1,300 compared to the new batch of wonder rifles coming in at $2,300+.
I don’t think any adjustments to the gas operation are required for this barrel mod. With the stock folded on a Sig classic, it should be around 24.5" after this mod.
Folded, the classic with 14.5" barrel and perm muzzle device isn’t much bigger than a 556 pistol…
