$100.00 less than the regular DDM4, plus it’s a middie! Wish I had the cash.
I bought a DD M-4 from them a month or so ago and wish it was there then. My last 2 builds were middies. I really prefer them. So much so that ADCO quoted me a price to switch mine over. The upper is on the way as I write. When it gets back I’ll probably sale the rail and barrel from the carbine to somewhat offset the cost.
So it looks like you get a lesser barrel, and a lesser rail for the same price as a std DDM4
Have you seen what they want for the barrel they took off?
Maybe but how many people do you know that wear out barrels? Rails, just preference as to what you like. I’ve got 2 so I only wanted one with that anteater nose on it.

It’s $100 less that the price of the std DDM4 (at least at ADCO).
It doesn’t seem that far out of line for the barrel.
Maybe not lesser barrel, but I just don’t see the rationale here. But, hey it’s a free country still.
Someone brought these up not too long ago, but I can’t find the thread now.
When the DDM4 came out many people seemed interested in buying the Omega X rail, or doing custom builds with it. The rail is not out on the market yet; DD is putting all of these rails on the rifles they are shipping right now. I think ADCO found a way around the supply issue while offering the mid-length gas system, which is what some people felt the DDM4 should have come with to begin with. This is pure speculation, however, and my perspective from the beginning hype of the DDM4 before it even came out, to then buying one, and now with this custom build. If this is in anyway accurate then good on ADCO for figuring out a way to make more customers happy…I may have bought this ADCO build over the factory DDM4.
They also had one for sale with a 7" lite rail instead of the x, that is how that rifle should have came from DD imo.
My buddy is interested in picking one of these up. The components appear to be pretty good, what do you guys think?
I can’t say the middie is “better” than the carbine length but I prefer it. I’ve built a few, and bought 2. For the same price I would buy the Adco model. I don’t care about the VFG, prefer the mid length, like the sling, and prefer the shorter rail. As a civilian shooter how much rail space do you need for a VFG and light? Maybe a sling swivel or bipod?
The only thing I dislike about the DD carbine is the rail in front of the sight base.
I would rather have the mid length (which is why I have mid lengths)
