ACU Moisture Wicking T-Shirts?

I’m looking to buy a few moisture-wicking style undershirts to wear on a daily basis… however I’m too cheap to spring for UnderArmor. I found a fairly decent deal (about $8 + shipping a shirt) on the ACU coyote colored moisture-wicking t-shirts. Are these any good?

I’m currently wearing some from us cav. They are probably the same ones you’re looking at. My biggest complaint about finding shirts is I need them in a xxlt so that they don’t come untucked. It’s such a PITA to have to keep tucking in the undershirt every once and awhile etc. I wish the ones I have were in tall sizes. I have no complaints about the material itself at all. Pretty solid shirt.

Exact same ones. I have the same problem. XXLTs end up being around $20 versus $5-7 for regular lengths. How long are the sleeves on these shirts? It seems every time I find a shirt I like the sleeves stick out past my cover shirt.

The sleeves are just right.

I did not see any in xxlt on their site.

Where do you find any in tall sizes?

Dooley, are these the Dri-Duke shirts you’re talking about?

I didn’t - I mean regular cotton T’s end up being crazy priced just to get the tall versions… sorry for the confusion.

I’m not sure - they’re the ones from US Cav.

You can always get the house brand (BCG) at Academy Sports for $13. No idea on the quality of these shirts, but they are cheaper than the $25 Under Armor ones. Nike runs about $20 for their comparable shirts and they have a looser fit the UA, which I like a little better than the “compression” thing.

Ah “moisture wicking”, the best phrase to happen to polyester since the 70s.

Sears recently had the Nordick Track shirts on sale for $10.I ordered eight of them in XX(after pickig up two in the store).

I’m not sure how they’ll hold up longterm but the styles(basically colors) are nice enough and they feel just like Nike and UA stuff(I prefer them to the 511 shirts I have).

JCPenneys had some stuff called Xcursion(?) on sale for about $15 a shirt as well.I only bought one because I found the Nordick Track before I had a chance to go back and grab more.

Not sure if it helps the OP but I didn’t want to start a new thread.

If you have a Marshalls or TJmax near you I’d suggest going there and looking through their athletic section. They carry alot of Underarmour Adidas and Nike dri fit apparel for less than $20. Though the color selction on the Underarmour is slim for the most part.

Any of you guys know if there are tall sizes in the places you’ve found? I have Marshalls/TJ Maxx/JC Penny etc all real close and was wondering before I make 4 trips to come up empty handed. Thanks.

I know Marshalls does but I’m not sure about Tjmaxx.

I have some of the ACU shirts I bought from ebay a few years back. My only complaint is the damn tag…rip that SOB out! Anyhow, Sports Authority usually has Russell Athletic wicking shirts on sale for reasonable prices. Also, Nike has a newer Dri-Fit shirt that has more of a soft cotton feel.

as a side note, year ago, I was issued brown undershirts with my utilities when I was in ROTC…they were 100% cotton and were stamped “federal bureau of prisons”. Unfortunately, all the ones I can find now are that clingy 10% poly crap and I really hate armpit wedgies. I wish I could find them.

I have used these with much success: 5 Military - spec Moisture - wicking T - shirts
http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/cb.aspx?a=609162

They are 19.97 for 5 plus shipping.

I have also found the Target and Walmart store brand wicking
t shirts to offer 80-90% of the performance of an UA shirt at 1/3 the price i.e less than 10.00 per shirt. These two shirt sources are the only t shirts I wear when it is 70 plus. I used them with great success in both Houston and KC this past summer under various square bottomed button up shirts/cover garments.

YMMV,

Thanks for all the helpful info guys - I did pick up a Target/Champion brand for under $10 and am liking the fit/weight/etc.

I just saw those tan/sand colored ones on uscav, wish I could wear tan because those are cheap. I wear the BCG shirts from Academy, their about half the price of UnderArmor.

FYI-Targets in my area ( Midwest) have wicking t-shirts in various colors on sale for 7.50 this week.

Mine’s in the middle of a remodel and they don’t seem to have any compression fit T’s out right now. The non-compression fit (which I don’t really have an interest in) are $9 it looks like…

Give the folks at Zensah an email, the give dam good LE discount!
I wear there stuff, and with armor it is GTG both summer and winter.
