Accupoint Tr24 German Reticle: any range finding tips?

Hey guys,

Has anyone worked out any range finding tips with the German Reticle Accupoint on 4x?

I use one on a 6x, but it’s on a ak47

Edit. Nevermind. I am not familiar with accupoints. I was thinking chevrons.

Not the most precise ranging, but it’s something…

Given the triangle is 4.2MOA at 4x at 100 yards, if it spans from tip of the nose on a face to the forehead, you can estimate it to be 100 yards.

If the triangle spans from chin to forehead (about 8 inches), you can estimate it to be about 200 yards.

If from top of chest to forehead, then about 300 yards.

Of course, this is given that you are shooting at a human being. Anything else, all bets are off. But use the same ranging method with known size of objects.

I used to have a rangefinding chart from WWII that was used by the Germans for that reticle. I will see if I can find it. The current reticle isn’t an exact match but it is close.
You would just need to find the subtensions at given ranges for difference spans.

He is using the German reticle not the triangle.
