Saw this earlier today. I’m sad to see AAC leaving GA. Heard a rumor about this a few weeks ago, but didn’t want to believe it. Hopefully this isn’t the next step towards a slow death for AAC.
I feel for the employees and their families.
I remember when they were posting pictures of their new offices, their “death star” conference room, how they brought it a local artist to do work… I had the distinct feeling that this type of thing would be looked down upon by their new corporate overlords some day.
Pretty interesting to watch it go from extreme excitement that Remington was buying, to this complete engulfing of the brand. I guess I’m surprised it didn’t happen sooner. Oh well.
You could see it coming the moment they announced the Huntsville AL deal. Says the employees were offered jobs there or severance packages.
Going to be some opportunities in Huntsville…
They were apparently offered the “opportunity” to reapply for there old jobs. That’s a scenario that I’m all too familiar with in my industry. Translates to - cleaning house.
Been there… Even had a meeting with “the Bobs”.
This will be the final blow to AAC.
They are turning into a shit company.
No innovation.
They will be another consumer grade silencer company.
This layoff was a way to get rid of the old AAC culture, which was exactly what the freedom group wanted. The AAC employees will not be hired back. They will get new employees to be indoctrinated.
It’s a shame, mostly for the employees and their families, but also for what was the company.
I have steered clear of AAC, thankfully, because of their mounting issues and their affiliation with the FG.
What is wrong with freedom group, they sound very anti-freedom. Remington’s good offerings are pretty much only available to the military. Hope we dont see that happen to AAC suppressors

I afraid this sums it up entirely.
Me too. And I have also been one of the Bobs.
I noticed that prices on 300 Blackout and 5.56 ARs from AAC just got cut $100 at a local gun store. I wonder if there’s any correlation between the price cut and the action by Remington. I have been considering picking up one of the AAC 5.56 rifles.
Another way of saying, we are relocating and we will most likely keep you but don’t feel strong enough about your dedication to the company to move you ourselves.
My engineering firm got bought out by the largest one in the world and nothing good ever came from the acquisition.
AAC is running a $100 off campaign right now. I got an email with a discount code this week.
They bought the company because it was successful, had a strong following, and military contracts.
They got rid of the people that caused the following, lost the contracts and stopped innovating.
This was coming.
Off of uppers. ![]()
Yeah. They are also offering $200 store credit on suppressors. Too bad you can’t apply it to the tax stamp.
Remember all the people who got tattoos for free cans? lol
I will still probably pick up an M42K in the future. Hopefully they keep it cheap like they do now.

The Glory days of AAC.
AAC’s current ownership isn’t anything new, nor is it changing. Sooo…they’re moving to a larger facility in another state…OH MY GOD!!!
I don’t know anything for sure obviously, and this move could cause issues…but I don’t follow everyone’s line of thinking that this means they’re going out of business, will stop making new and better products, or will just overall become a crap company. Despite all newly designed suppressors on the market in the last few years…I’ve yet to run across a single one that bests any AAC offerings in any more than one or maybe two ways. (usually mount lock-up)
If their new mounts address the super-duper, puppy-kicking catastrophic “wiggle issue”…Then I’m curious to see what other aspect of AAC suppressors people will be able to freak out about? Compared to other offerings…Weight? Nope. Size? Nope. Sound reduction? Nope. Materials? Nope. Strength/Durability? Nope. Diverse Selection? Nope.
