AAC is back!

LOL. When did Gemtech become garbage? I’m a big fan of Dater designs. Until the B&T came along you couldn’t find better suppressors for the MP5 than the Raptor II except for Knights. Ditto the Mossad for the Uzi. Love the way that HALO runs on all my ARs, my SIG 551 and my HK 93.

I know AAC made some good cans, people I respect liked them. I was just never able to actually get my hands on the ones I wanted.

I sent an sdn6 and a gemtech hvt to ecco. The sdn6 came back with keymo and locks up hard. The HVT is now a tubeless 15.5 ounce (w/o mount) that is quiet and locks up tight. Going to work them over on Friday and see if I can measure POI shift…

The sdn6 is now heavier than the HVT. And I have a growing stack if 51t mounts, as they come off

Their thread on stuff was ok. Anything mount related was shit. Pappabear blew his 9mm can off the gun(pistol). I mean the f#$King can just fell apart. That led to a sandstorm in credit/trade which had some other unacceptable issue with the mounting. I think it wasn’t concentric.

We finally found a good home for the sand storm on a 223 bolt gun where it could be a little out of whack, and not break.

Well their 3-lug mount has been industry standard for decades. But the Bi-Lock is trash. Gemtech fell off the cliff shortly after S&W bought them.

Maybe it was a bi lock that failed, but the can separated if I remember correctly. The sandstorm has a2 lug mount. It’s good where it is on the .223 because he/we didn’t want to have to deal with any more NFA transferring to finally get a good product.

I too have a bunch of AAC cans because they were the only game in town for the longest time. So I hope they do get their shit together.

Papabear, take a hard look at bailing on aac mounts. I shot the hell out of my sdn6 today on a 300 blackout and poi was modest and repeatable. The keymo locks up hard. No 51t wobble. It’s pretty cheap and transforms the can.

I actually just sent an email off to ECCO Machine asking if they can convert the Bilock on my Shield to take Standard 1.375x24 adapters. Hopefully the answer is yes.

ECCO Machine just did a couple of my cans.

These are a couple cans they just finished up. They threaded the M4-2K to take any standard modern mount. I went with SilencerCo ASR mount, but you can use Griffin, Dead Air, Q, Etc.

The second can is an old Huntertown Guardian 9 that had damaged threads. They fixed it and put a custom milled Griffin Taper mount on it at my request. Total cost for both cans including shipping was about 300 bucks.

Their work is top notch and they communicate with you as things come up. The owner called me to go over options on the Huntertown and make sure I got what I wanted. If I had decided not to have the work done they were going to send it back with no cost for the time spent figuring out a solution.

Kyro3, where did you send off ?
Kwlz, thanks for your input.

Ecco is awesome. They did my 9mm form 1.

JJE aka palmetto state armory purchased AAC. My main concern is if the quality control will be even worse now. time will tell.

There’s SO MANY better options than AAC now. I hate my AAC cans… massively overweight, out of date designs.

Lol. No.

I got a text and email on Thursday saying they needed my can (I’d been on the wait list for 5 months) by Monday (Which was a federal holiday). I was traveling the next day for the following week.

“SORRY YOULL HAVE TO ADD YOUR NAME BACK TO THE LIST”

5 Months of waiting and I’m expected to be ready at the drop of a hat?

**** you. I’ll just buy a new suppressor for that kind of time.

I’ve had hit or miss customer service experience with Ecco with questions regarding Form 1’s and 4’s. That said, the one can I’ve purchased from them was built quickly to my specs and is of excellent quality so I still recommend them if something special or unusual is needed. For me, it was a relatively lightweight and short .375 can. I couldn’t find anything made by a major manufacturer which fit the bill.

this is true, Im a big surefire fan for my SBR ARs 10.3 colt socom, 11.5 colt HRT, 14.5 colt socom, and 12.5 bcm. never ventured beyond ARs for cans.

I took my TBAC can and it had an old mount that sucked, I bought a new brake and red loctited that bitch in the can and now its a direct thread can. Anyone try this with their AAC cans? I have one or two SDN6’s sitting on the safe in retirement. Thought about making them DT cans, TB style.

PB

Would the 51T lockup system allow for that? Might be better to go with something like JB Weld

I really would have no idea, but I dont see why the not. I jammed one mount into my SDN6 and it would seem to work if I loctite or JB’d it.

PB

Can’t you just unscrew it with the mount by not releasing the ratchet?
