I know when they were in business they almost never had most of their products in stock, were forever back ordered and mostly known for exaggerating their db levels by recording them in the most favorable conditions.
I waited two years trying to get a couple suppressors for myself and almost three years for a suppressor a customer wanted, never ever got them and canceled the orders. Seemed like they had some decent ideas in the beginning and probably good suppressors, but I was never able to find out.
I know that the 4 AAC cans I have (two Mini4s, SDN-6, TI-RANT 45M) were in stock every time I went to Silencer Shop to get one.
They work great and my Mini4s have virtually no POI shift when added to my rifles. The Mini4 is my go to for my 12.5 SBRs. Great combo. When AAC gets back up and going I plan to get two more.
Their warranty service was top notch and super fast turn around times. Best turnaround time was 13 days and longest was 26. I would send them in to get the ratchet spring replaced and they would clean it and recoat it also.
Last time I sent something in to them was in January of 2020 and even with all of the stuff going on with Freedom Group they got my can back to me in 26 days.
I would like to see a 7.62 Mini can. That would be great.
YES! AAC was a f#$King joke. But they were the only alternative to Gemtech’s garbage. I hated their guts. Always Effing off an dicking around on the internet instead of building customers’ cans. I was a wait victim too.
(My stamp came back before my can showed up… that’s how retarded they were.)
So I have a SDN-6 with Ecco mod
Tirant 45m and 9m. These were always in stock when I purchased.
Other than the 51t mount I like their products. I think the SDN-6 is quieter than the Q trash panda I have.
I’m interested in what new ownership will bring. Under original ownership they made some good product but with all of the owners famous antics. Remington put nothing into them and probably made the product lower quality.
I’m interested to see if they bring some old cans back and if they will do warranty work on old cans.
I was never a hater of the 51T but I would love to consolidate some of my mounts. My mini always locks up tight. My SDN6 always is a little loose but has been relegated to a 300 blackout single shot. They both have been back for new latches a few times. I have an Omega that has a plan B now and the size along with a hanson Brothers endcap makes it a lightweight functional can (6.5" and 13oz). It would be nice to move my Mini around as I love that can.
The cherry bomb is a dumpster fire when it comes to flash and they dont make a flash hider other than for the SR25 (totally bazar coming from the guy that made one of the best flash hiders of all time) but the aftermarkets from Readen and Liberty are quality.
Same here. I still run the 18T mounts, Pappabear has several 51Ts. We always just instinctively took care of the latch and teeth. The get carboned up throughout the year, but clean right up. I toss the mounts in my SS media tumbler every so often, and they come out beautiful.
I have a very first run AAC Mini4. Had it back for repair twice. Service and return was very fast. The last time it was in the replaced all baffles and refinished it for free. Turn around was 3 weeks. I have this can on my work rifle, a 12.5" and I believe it’s the quietest can for its size. I have been having an issue with the pin that holds the ratchet on the can and I’m glad they are back in business because if it needs to be fixed, I now know that I can send it out somewhere. Hopefully their service will be the same as what I have experienced.
