Okay I’ve read plenty about the latch problem with this can and the 51t deficiencies. My question is, would anyone still consider this a viable dedicated 300 Blackout can if it stays on the barrel as a semi permanent fixture? I would plan to essentially never take it off. Mount it and leave it. Does the latch still wear under such circumstances? Any issue with cleaning the barrel with it on (solvents, oil, etc…)? I may have a chance to get one of these at a reasonable price ($600-$700), I’m trying to decide if it’s worth the money in that role. I’ve already got a Saker 762 awaiting F4 approval that I plan on being my “moving around” can.
That’s what I do with mine.
When I used to move it, I would press the latch in when removing so it wouldn’t make any contact with the teeth.
What issues do these have? I just got my stamp and that’s the exact caliber and can I’m using for my sbr.

Then you know what the problem is…
They’re either the absolute worst thing you’ve ever seen, with serious wobble and massive POI shift…or they’re perfect and nobody has any problems. That seems to be the two sides often voiced.
The reality is 360-degrees divided by 51 gives you the operating ranges where it’s going to lock up tight. Carbon build up or minor grinding get you closer to those ~7-degree valleys for better lockup. Unlike the YHM mounts, which allow you to rotate the locking ring so that the teeth line up perfectly, the AAC mounts are fixed and users have a wide variety of end results.
A majority of users have little no to issues as far as wobble goes. And those that do have slight wobble claim no impact on accuracy.
This is a solid post. Im in the, I have slight wobble on a 5r bolt gun and its a half inch gun. I have several for that matter. I don’t know how you clean they without getting solvents in your can. Just take it off. Don’t need to clean barrels often anyway.

You might be right. I’d like to see that flame thrower. It may not cause any problems. I just know there are no issues with removing to clean. I keep my SDN6 on my gun 24/7 and my 300WM TBAC CAN. But I take off to clean.

This issue(s) with permanently attaching a suppressor have been discussed before. Proper cleaning of barrel (pushing shit in and out of the can), what to do if you have a baffle strike, etc…
I really like my N6 despite it’s short comings regarding the durability of the mount. Although, I never would have purchased a QD can if I didn’t intend to move it from platform to platform quickly.
If you’ve already got a QD 7.62 and want a semi-permanent fixture, I think you’d be much better off with something direct thread.
No sense in the extra cost, length, or weight of the QD mechanism if you’re not going to use it.
+1 on direct thread if you don’t intend to move it. I think you can find the DT Cyclone for around 500
