Are A4 barrel extensions the same as M4 ones?

I dont know for sure, but I would say that’s mis print. As far as I know all Daniel Defense barrels have standard M4 feedramps.
Daniel Defense’s upper receiver is described as an ‘A4’, and has M4 feed ramp cuts. Therefore, I would guess that their ‘A4’ barrel extension has the M4 feed ramps. Why they chose this terminology instead of the more widely used ‘M4 ramps/cuts’ description is beyond me.
The A3/A4 thing seems a bit goofy these days. Depending on the manufacturer, A3 and A4 can mean the same thing. Or a different thing. I recently purchased a stripped flat top upper receiver that was listed as an ‘A3’ upper, but it has M4 cuts, and was described as such. I have seen other ‘A3’ upper receivers that do not have the M4 cuts. The barrel I have to go with that upper was described as having ‘M4 feed ramps’, and it does match up nicely with the cuts in the ‘A3’ receiver.
Confusing? It can be.
