Sorry to drag this thread back up and to repeat hearsay, but back in the '90s it was rumored that Shaw made those barrels. Lately I’ve seen that Green Mountain is making them and even Colt themselves. And that they are button rifled.
Whatever.
Anyway, I don’t think this level of accuracy is unusual for Colt barrels. I had a 9 twist Colt that would put 52MKs into about 5/8" @ 100yds and a friend of mine had a 7 twist that he told me shot real well. He put it on a NM course gun and I shot it prone at 300yds and it did indeed shoot quite well. I’ve heard of others too so I don’t think it’s just Molon and I.
I’ve been saying the same thing for awhile. I had a SOCOM barrel back 5 or 6 years ago that consistently shoot MOA with 69 SMKs and 4X ACOG.
The only other chrome lined barrel I’ve had that would hang with it is a Knight’s Armament I have now.
That reminds me that one of these days, I’m going to take some spare $$$ to a local gun show and buy as many cheap questionable AR parts as possible with the intention to assemble everything into a single AR-15/M4gery. I am curious how bad it would be, or good, or entertaining at least.
The truly funny thing is that he claimed that he never even shot the barrel. He was claiming that the barrel was junk and would never shoot accurately based on a bore-scoping of the barrel.

Selling online sure beats putting ads in the Shotgun News or schlepping your stuff to a gunshow like in the old days, but you’re still apt to run into some assholes.
Just out of curiosity, what does your bench rest setup look like?
Is it a machine rest?
Those groups are amazing.
My Krieger barreled AR-15s have turned in sub 1/2 MOA 10-shot groups at 100 yards using that set-up.
