A sincere THANK YOU to all on m4carbine forums!!!

I’m mostly a lurker here, as I really don’t have much RW experience in the “tactical” arena and was taught early on to keep my trap shut if I didn’t know my head from my a$$ about a subject.

I just wanted to let everyone know how appreciative I am for the AR knowledge I’ve gleaned from this site.

Two of my ARs are made by a manufacturer generally poo-poo’d for their QC by guys that use them for real. Without this place I would have never known to check out the staking on my gas keys, the Crane and DFENDER extractor upgrades, inferior barrel steel, etc.

I’m generally hesitant to fix things that aren’t broken, but I never knew ARs regularly come from the factory with potentially problematic oversights by the OEM. I now have Ned’s pocket MOACKs and extractor enhancements from Grant en route.

I’m also a bit pissed that I HAVE to do this stuff that should already be done at the factory, but happy that I can upgrade my rifles to get the best out of what I have - especially before I take a class or (God forbid) need one to defend my family.

Thanks again!

You shouldn’t be pissed about having to do these maintenance / upgrades.

Look at it this way, most gunsmiths are blabbering idiots. By taking the time to learn the AR platform, you are increasing your skills and abilities to maintain a weapons system that you may call upon to defend your family, your property, and even yourself.

No, have some pride in knowing that YOU have made sure your fighting guns are good to go. I remember hearing something about “I must master my rifle, as I must master myself”.

Glad you like the forum and have gained useful knowledge from it (which is the intended goal).

I learned more about the AR platform on this forum than I did in my entire military career and I carried a M4/M16 daily.

I’ve gained so much knowledge from this site that it’s the only site that I check on a daily basis now. I’ve learned so much about M4 feedramps, staking the carrier key, shrouded carriers, slings, handguards and all the stuff that looks cool but not a worthwhile purchase as well as the less expensive things that go a long way to enhancing the performance of my AR. To all of you here, cheers!

And you industry guys that check in here frequently and keep us abreast of the kind of things we should be doing with our carbines – You guys are the best!

what is with the negative rant about gunsmiths nationwide??? do you actually know “most gunsmiths”. I’m sure that the talented gunsmiths who have contributed to this forum really appreciate the compliment!

Thanks to all who contribute to this forum, in a positive way, for making it one of the best.
