I’ve been asked by several followers to share my experiences and thoughts on Israeli airport security and how it stacks up against the TSA here in the U.S.

First let me detail my experiences with Israeli security. [read more]

Thanks for the link. Good insight on what the Israeli’s consider as security at their airports. Curious if the Israeli’s profile passengers at their screening checkpoints dependent upon nationalities.

Israel has not domestic flights so international travel, which by its very nature, takes more time.

You’d never be able to ask people all these questions, it would bring airports to a standstill. The other side would be getting people qualified to do the screening.

Had a co-worker get his laptop taken from him because it had a sticky note on it with his name. IT had updated all our computers before he left and left the sticky note on it. Security must have thought it was prepared for him or something. For some reason, I think this was on the arival security scan- I thought he didn’t get his computer back until he was about to leave.

#1: They get to PROFILE. Here in the US people would be screaming bloody murder about their rights being violated.

#2: The Israelis have a damn good reason, considering the stated threats of total anniliation made by their enemies. If we had that kind of direct threat here in the US, I suspect our security would change also. Think about it, ALL non-military air traffic in the US was grounded with fighter jets looking for anyone who busted it in the days following 9-11…

my cousin flies for Dubai Air
their security is radical dif over there compared to when he flew for JAL out of Oahu
Dubai has much better security with less hassles and time than Oahu !
