iv’e been wondering about the wolf or tula ammo that has the steel bullets with a copper was on them. i read on a forum about a guy who actually measured the thickness of the copper wash and said it was just thick enough to engage the rifling. my worry is that steel bullets would strip the lands and grooves or am i just being a worry wart? as always thanks, jason h
Your barrel’s steel should be many times stronger than any cheap steel used as part of a bullet jacket.
Remember the bullet is completely disposable. They are using a steel mix to save money and use the cheapest they can find for that reason.
Not to mention the money saved if you just plinking or blasting can easily buy a new barrel.
