Cadavers placed in sexual positions and put on public display. Just what the fu*k we need.

There are no words to express my disgust. The far-left really needs to become extinct.

ZURICH — German anatomists plan a new show dedicated solely to dead bodies having sex as part of the Body Worlds exhibitions.

Gunther von Hagens and his wife Angelina Whalley show corpses prepared using a technique invented by von Hagens called “plastination,” that removes water from specimens and preserves them with silicon rubber or epoxy resin.

“It’s not my intention to show certain sexual poses. My goal is really to show the anatomy and the function,” Body Worlds creative director Whalley told Reuters in an interview, adding the sex exhibition may open next year.

Body Worlds exhibitions, visited by 27 million people across the world, have been criticized for presenting entire corpses, stripped of skin to reveal the muscles and organs underneath, in lifelike and often theatrical positions.

Von Hagens has already triggered uproar with a new exhibit which shows just two copulating corpses.

German politicians called the current “Cycle of Life” show charting conception to old age “revolting” and “unacceptable” when it showed in Berlin earlier this year because it included copulating cadavers.

The way a plastinate is exhibited can vary from country to country to reflect local sensibilities. A vote of local employees decided that one of the copulating female cadavers should wear fewer clothes in Zurich than was the case in Berlin.

“Switzerland is the first country that already said from the outset that we could show whatever we wanted,” said von Hagens.

“Zurich is ready … but it’s maybe not so easy in every other town,” he said. “We have discussed whether it is proper to show homosexuality and in what way. This is a very delicate subject.”

Von Hagens and Whalley said they both intended to donate their bodies for plastination, but would not leave instructions about how to display them, dismissing this as vanity.

“I find it a great opportunity to give something to others by donating my body, namely self-awareness,” said Whalley.

Von Hagens said he and some other body donors even saw plastination as an alternative to burial or cremation, giving them more certainty about would happen to their bodies after death.

“Cremation for me is hell,” he said.

I don’t think the sexual positions is whats going to get people in an uproar, it’s the part of using skinned human corpses that will bother most. (assuming I read it right)

They’ve had an exhibit touring the US for a few years now (non sex one). I caught it in Las Vegas. Most of what you see is plasticized remnants of the real tissue. The bodies used in the exhibits were donated for the purpose of the display, at least the US exhibit ones were. Posing them in sexual positions isn’t about how amazing the human body is, it’s a lame attempt to sexualize it and make more money off of it.

The most amazing one was the nervous system. Completely removed from the body. It still looked like a human but made of little webs. The vascular display was equally impressive. If you’re into biology at all, it really is an amazing presentation, sans sexual positions of course.

p.s. I guess it wouldn’t technically be necrophelia though… as they’d both be dead.

I agree. In fact, I basically said the same thing in my first post. I think it’d be sick and disgusting for them to do it in a sexual manner. That being said, I want to apologize. I didn’t realize that “topic drift” was frowned upon so harshly. For the most part, regardless of the forum, there will always be a little drift. I only posted the second link to show that there is sanity in the process of plasticizing the cadavers, but as we all can see, there’s gonna be some whack job that decides he needs to push it in the wrong direction.

Here, hidden at the bottom, is the crux of their thinking.

They are concerned with what happens to their body after death. People who have that “concern” are usually not concerned about their soul. All their thinking and obsession is temporal and earthly.

People of God do not concern themselves with what happens to a mass of flesh once the soul leaves it. They spend their time preparing the soul, not the flesh, for the time after death. It is the soul, not the flesh, that has eternal life.

These people are vain. That will be their undoing. What happens to their body will be the least of their worries and they might just find out that hell isn’t having your body burned after you die, but your soul.

It’s not that, I was just clarifying what the real issue is. You are correct in what you stated overall, I know.

Personally, I have no problem with someone allowing their bodies to be used for science, but this is just an abomination no matter how you look at it.

I mean really, what is the merit of posing two dead men in a homo position? Even a man and woman for that matter.

Wake, you seemed to get things off on the wrong foot. Horror was the response I was looking for. Then again this thread was just to raise awareness, nothing more.

I agree that showing dead bodies having sex is disgusting and I don’t think it should be done. That said, if someone wants their body used for that and someone else is willing to do it, I’m not going to stop them. I won’t give them any of my money either.

I did like the other exhibits done by this organization. I too caught the one that is in the U.S. and it is cool (no bodies having sex).

I’m sorry, but this doesn’t sound like “Science” to me.

I refused to go see the Bodies exhibit, despite the urging of several friends; to me, it’s an undignified death, but that doesn’t mean the scientific study thereof isn’t meritorious.

This thing seems to go a step beyond a merely undignified death, and becomes some sort of socially acceptable sadomasochism.

The mere fact that “homosexuality” was brought up underscores the true nature of this exhibit, and it ain’t biology.

This is unreal. It’s like “family fun-day” with Pinhead and the Cenobites.

To me, disgust at such a thing is what defines the truly American culture and heritage vs. the European model of moral relativism and outright hedonistic atheism.

I find this sort of display to be a deplorable affront to decency.

BS. If they really wanted to do this all they would have to do is just show some pornos. This is beyond sick. This is taking an already sensationalistic, controversial (who were the body donors), yet educational, exhibit and turning the dial up to 11.

The homosexuality is at best a red herring. I dont care if they have three women and a guy, this is just wrong on so many levels.

Keep in mind that I am about as open minded as they come and I think that society as a whole is too puritanical. But If you knew me better you would agree that when I say something is over the top, it is.

Having said that, people should vote with their wallet.

I saw the body exhibit in San Antonio and while that was interesting this absurd.

Complete BS on the guy saying he simply wants to show the anatomy and function. What could you possibly take away from two corpses in sexual positions? Nothing. There is no value. It is beyond unnecessary which leads one to conclude that the guy is a sick pervert who is trying to be “different” and make a buck.
