His casket arrive at Hartsfield International Airport south of downtown Atlanta just before 1pm and a motorcade carried him on I-75 to Cobb County (north of Atlanta) where the funeral will be.

I-75 was cleared for the motorcade, four motorcycles carrying the US flag and USMC flag escorted the hearse. Along I-75 overpasses from the airport to Kennesaw, people gathered with US flags to say goodbye and honor the fallen Marine.

Cobb County Fire trucks used their ladders to hold up a US flag:

Cobb County PD motorcycle officers lead the convoy as the procession was near Kennesaw:

The hearse:

Made me choke up with pride.

RIP, Marine.

Fair winds and following seas Leatherneck.

Heartbreaking

That young man is the salt of the Earth. I am saddened and diminished.

So very much this.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Wells family, and with his fellow warriors. May his murderer receive the fiery roasting he so richly deserves.
