A loss in talk radio

This is very unfortunate. Michael Savage is no longer on the air. While many of you may not have liked him, his show will be missed. IMO The Savage Nation was the best radio talk show there was.

Quinn and rose in the morning is much better. A loss none the less.

I’ll miss that guy like I miss small pox.

He was (or, is?) just another flavor of the Main Stream Media goulash, and was almost as clueless about reality as Bill O’Reilly or Sean Hannity…

Followed the link and it didn’t say anything in regard to why he is going off the air.

Apologies Mr. Knuckle, here you go

He’s not gone, he’s simply been freed from his contract via arbitration, which is exactly what he wished…

He isnt GONE gone…just off the air until he regroups.
He spent about $900,000 on this case, and was awarded over $1,000,000.
He will be ON FIRE when he returns.
To say he is “just another flavor of Main Street Goulosh” is indicative that one has not listened to the man.
He is so far outside the mainstream, right or wrong, it isnt funny.
Ive disagreed with him in the past, and its odd to me that recently on this board someone said he was ranting about the availability of AR’s and /or high cap mags, when Ive heard him MANY times over the 12 years I listenend to him while driving OTR, say that he had “an Ar15 in the corner behind me” while he was on the air. Ive never ever heard him be anything but pro 2nd Amendment.

I don’t think he has been interested in broadcasting in a long damn time. I used to listed daily, but fell away about 4 year ago. It got too difficult to listen to the incessant droning. It’s like he lost spirit. Things may have picked up since then. I have tries to come back a couple of times, but couldn’t.

No, you pal, are wrong.

To say that he is anything but part of the establishment media system is indicative that you don’t have a clue what is real, and what isn’t.

The so-called “talk” radio hosts always spew the same line of gibberish, though they do use a different words. That nut was no different than Rush Limbaugh, or any of the other neo-con fruit-loops that repeat the same old worn out phrases…

Four legs good, two legs bad…Four legs good, two legs bad…

Four legs good, two legs better…

Four legs good, two legs better…

Get my drift?

And that is why real thinking men go to Alex Jones to find out what is the real deal.

Really? So even when HE called for gun control, you thought he was great? While he was on point sometimes, over all he was an egotistical jerk who was nowhere as smart as he thought he was. Maybe he could get a show on Food Network. Now if we could get rid of the cheerleader Hannity.

While I have heard him say he has an AR and that he is pro 2nd, I have heard him say we need gun control as well. The most recent example being for the next two days after the Colorado movie theater shooting.
His reasoning, we need to do it before the anti gunners do:blink:. Wait , what? So someone wants to shoot you in the head so his solution… to shoot yourself in the gut. He was off in many other issues, that one was just the one off the top of my head.

And, your point is?

If I understand what you are trying to say, it seems that you are suggesting that I am an Alex Jones listener, which I am not. In fact, I think the guy is a loony whack-job, with a loony whack-job following…

Again, your amazing logic has failed you…

No, you pal, are wrong.

To say that he is anything but part of the establishment media system is indicative that you don’t have a clue what is real, and what isn’t.

How old are you?

I have listened to him off and on for a little while. I try to filter as best I can to get to the meat of his mantra. He is entertaining to say the least.

I like Savage, but he pushes my BP.

Learn to DISCERN. All Alex Jones states isn’t bullshit. All that “Sorcha Faal” states isn’t bullshit. All the Left states isn’t bulkshit. All the Right states isn’t bullshit. All of ANYTHING, however, is pure bullshit.

That said, I like when Savage would deviate and talk about his anecdotal observations. He’s an anti-Semite (Arabs ARE Semites) but I like SOME of what he says and dislike SOME of what he says. At heart he’s got Neocon leanings or he’s pro-Israel to a fault - HIS pick. He’s spot on about much in this world and for all I agree with about him I will miss him.

Oh, he was absolutely ANTI-2nd Amendment after the Colorado debacle.

Its odd to me that even though WE ALL heard him call for banning AR15s and high cap magazines, you still find it odd.

I think all of the talk radio guys are past their prime with the possible exception of Glenn Beck. I started listening to Rush Limbaugh in 1988. I thought Rush was the new Paul Harvey back then, but now I realize his heyday was during the Clinton years. Now he spends too much time on football and where he’s playing golf.

I never cared much for Savage, but his woes just add to the feeling that conservative talk radio is in a mature market. Internet and (I hope) the new DISH channel The Blaze are where it’s at.

Radio is going to an all-news format soon–you watch.

People like Jerry Doyle, Bill Cunningham, Neal Boortz, Laura Ingraham, Monica Crowley, et al, just don’t get the audience that Rush, Hannity, Savage, and Beck have.

Lou Dobbs and Bill O’Reilly both gave up their radio shows. That indicates the market is saturated.

I do miss G. Gordon Liddy though. “Two to the head and one to the groin” when the JBT’s come for you. Is he even still on the air?

He just retired.
