Does anyone know of a good brass catcher for a SCAR 17? My buddy reloads, and being in Alaska whenever we shoot in the winter the brass gets lost in the snow, so he needs a brass catcher badly. The one he’s using now is from Caldwell, and it causes stoppages like crazy. The reciprocating charging handle makes finding a good one challenging. Any suggestions?
If you’re not moving around a lot you could build one of those free standing catchers.
I have used a D I R T P I L E for about 18 years now. It has never let me down, the brass is always right there for me.

Youch… $170 for a brass catcher. We just started using canvas tarps, but that only works when we are practicing when not moving.

Found this one last year over at www.Beyond556.com. The initial offerring/run was sold at tue above web site. I was out in the bush and missed it. They were supposed to have a second run right before christmas and haven’t heard anything.
I received an email this afternoon that they are taking pre-orders for the Brass Hog Catcher through tue above website. Cost is $80.29 TTD, apparently already billed to my card I think (great :(). It’s a shot in the dark since I’ve never delt with these guys before so I’m alittle uneasy about it. I hate fronting but 50B and 6.5G is spendy.
I use the Tactical brass recover catcher on two of my AR15s. They work amazingly on there. I think they are worth the money. They offer a MIL/LEO discount too if that applies to you.
It will also work on the SCAR family too that is why I went this route. Attaches to the right side for the free float pic rail leuaving the top rail free for optics.
