I just read with much interest Rob_S’s article Maintaining a Fighting Mindset in the July edition of S.W.A.T. magazine.
It brought to mind my own determination to remain on condition Yellow as much as possible within my everyday comings and goings.
Little things such as ensuring that all the household entrance doors are locked at all times…Never allowing myself to be boxed in at stoplights without some avenue of escape…etc.
I would be interested to hear what actions others take in their everyday lifes in this area to ensure their own protection…?
I prefer Condition Black: Not in any particular state of mental readiness but still prepared and willing to kill everything in your general area without provocation.

i carry a pistol, and train hard and frequently to fight with it. i carry a carbine, and train hard and frequently to fight with it. i carry extra magazines for both.
after that, i pretty much just go about my business. i’m banking on a combination of being naturally more observant than most around me (and probably not even by much), being obscenely over-armed at all times, and looking like i don’t have any money. even though i probably have more cash on me at any given moment than the dude in the BMW next to me- people who have nice cars generally use banks.
I just moved this to the trash for review.
I personally think that it’s tripe.
Right from the get-go we have a guy that doesn’t teach fighting, has never been in a gunfight, and is one of the most self-centered people I have ever listened to without elbowing them in the throat telling people how to build and maintain a “Fighting Mindset”.
Am I taking f**king crazy pills?
And then the comment about “Condition Black”, with the comment (no idea if it is serious or humor) about killing “everything in your general area without provocation”.

Rob_s is a bit out of his lane…and SteyrAUG is convinced that he’s one of the baddest dudes walking the earth because he took martial arts classes.
It’s a bunch of goofy shit and it deserves to be flushed.
