A Doctor's View of Gunshot Wounds and Terminal Ballistics

Hello gents, while looking around on youtube yesterday I ran into a very interesting video lecture dealing with gun shot wounds. The lecture was given by Dr. Andreas Grabinsky, an anesthesiologist from seattle, who works with trauma surgeons in the operating room. It was very comprehensive and covered a multitude of firearms injuries ranging from handguns to rifles as well as controlling the loss of blood and other facets as it relates to firearms injuries. Before watching, I think it is fair to mention there are quite a few graphic scenes in this. I know I am personally a bit squemish. :stuck_out_tongue: It is also quite long (about 35 minutes) but well worth your time.

Forgive me in advance if this has been posted elsewhere before and I am just bringing up old knowledge. Furthermore mods feel free to move it to a more appropriate section if you see fit. Enjoy the video!

EDIT: Ignore the youtube title, the lecture was reposted by another youtube user

This has been posted numerous times. But, it’s good information and worth a refresher post every now and then.

Definately good info, and highlights the fact that all handguns are just hole punches and that all the service calibers look alike in their wound trauma.

First time I’ve seen this. Thanks for posting.
