Does COLT make a non select fire version of the M16A4 for LE/etc that does NOT have an HBar?
Thats what I thought, even though the 6920 is very nice Im no longer a huge carbine fan, but Im considering my first COLT purchase down the road a bit
There are a number of people that have been politicing for this to happen and they won’t make them.
About the best you can do right now is using an M4 upper receiver with a Sabre Defense barrel.
If you look hard enough, you can find M16A4 and M16A2 complete uppers. I was just looking at an M16A4 upper at a dealer’s today. You can expect to pay a premium for them. The ones that I’ve seen lately have been going for at least $1000.
You might find an A2 upper receiver group and replace the receiver.
The BCM offering, which will hopefully be released soon, is probably the leading contender when one can’t get the genuine Colt.

I built mine. I ordered a new in the wrap M16A2 barreled upper from ARMAMENT SERVICES INTERNATIONAL, a Colt 6520 Government Carbine from Clyde Armory, and a BUTTSTOCK KIT, A2 RIFLE BUTTSTOCK (W/ FORGED REC. EXTENSION, BUFFER & ACTION SPRING) from Specialized Armament. I sold the Colt 6520 barreled upper and stock for what I paid for the M16A2 upper and stock. Mine is a HBAR, but I could have gotten the standard barrel profile. The only thing I am not wild about is the color difference between the M16 upper(grey) and the LE AR lower(black).
In lieu of creating a new thread, I wanted to check on members buying from Armament Services Intl. Scattergun, how were they to deal with?
I am looking for a M16A4 upper to build a clone of my rifle when I was on active duty as well as a 6921 upper for intermittent use on my Commando. Right now the A4 upper is seaming more appealing so I went out to look for one. Haven’t been able to find one anywhere with exception of on AutoWeapons.
You recommend them Scattergun?
I had zero problems with ARMAMENT SERVICES INTERNATIONAL. I ordered the upper over the weekend and he shipped the upper on Monday. I wouldn’t hesitate a second on dealing with VAHAN.
I also had zero problems with Ken Elmore at Specialized Armament and recommend him also. Both are first class.
Thanks Bud. I had a crack at one a couple of years ago for a little under a grand so I am still trying to convince myself to jump on one at the $1300 price. Guess I just have to accept the higher prices all around. Thanks man.

This is as close as you are going to get, if you don’t insist on the Colt rollmark.
I guess it depends on how bad you want a COLT A4. The only regret I have is I wish I hadn’t sold Colt 6520 upper.
