So after several failed attempts to contact the people that made my
.45 can, I’ll ask here.
After lots of buyin and sellin, I now own a G19 and a .45 can. I do not think they will work togther, but I would like to know for sure.
What do you folks think? Sell the G19, the can, or…

if it has a booster, and the threads will match, then it should work fine.
It will be louder than a dedicated 9mm can, but depending on which silencer it is, it might be OK.
Well, you got me… it’s an AAC Evo .45
I didn’t think it would work because of the diameter of the piston v.s. the diameter of the barrel.

You can change the thread attachment and it should work just fine.
Dirty little suppressor secret…buy for the largest caliber you have and it will support all lesser calibers(i.e. fire .22 through a 9mm can all the time - My .308 can also gets 7.62x39, 5.56 and .22 through it) Jason is right about the booster to watch for. My Evo’s have no problem.
Only no-no is not to use a pistol can on a rifle caliber(.22 excluded) A 9mm can would not last long, if at all with high pressure 5.56 being fired through it.
You should sell them both…to me, for a dollar.
Just kidding, you should be good to go if it threads on your barrel, try it without a booster also, sometimes it works on some guns and not on others, no harm in trying, the only thing that would happen is it wouldn’t cycle. My buddy just got a Blackside with a buch of different LID’s and caps to work on all his calibers, he was able to make a 40S&W load that would cycle the action on his Glock 23 without a Booster. Way Cool, and quiet too.

If I get a 9mm evo piston with say 13.5X1LH threads, and get my barrel threaded, I should be good to go? Basiclly, will an evo 9 piston work in an evo .45?
First, please NEVER use a pistol can on a rifle. Just had to put that out there.
And there are a lot of good reasons for “multi-use” cans. But, there are downsides as well- they are larger, heavier, and generally louder than dedicated cans.
That said, the EVO45 and EVO9 pistons are different, so they are not compatible. You are left with either getting your 9mm barrel threaded to match an available 45 piston threading, or (my suggestion) get the 9mm barrel threaded in a standard 9mm thread (for example 1/2-28) and get a custom adaptor from TROS or Tornado to match your EVO45. This way, you can use the 45 as long as you want and you still have your 9mm ready in case you ever decide to go with a 9mm can.
I believe that you’ll be disappointed shooting 9mm through a 45 can due to the larger aperture of the 45 can letting so much gas out the front.
Most 45 cans aren’t even that quiet with 45, much less something a lot smaller and supersonic.

For what it’s worth, a 45 through the 45 can will be quieter than a 9mm through the same can.

Someone at AAC,(didn’t catch the name) just called me on the phone. We talked, and I figured I’ll proly just go with a .45.
I liked my Hk tac. but just not into them any more(CS=:rolleyes:).
So mabey a m&p .45 mid is in my future.
