What is your choice of range ammo since they are all the same price?

The Lawman and Federal, then the WWB, then the Remington, due to my observation of QC by these companies over the past few years.
I have had good luck with the Federal Champion 115gr FMJ 9mm ammo from Wally World. $9.47 per box of 50 rds and no box limit anymore at the stores in my neck of the woods.
Yup, same here. I shoot the shit out of this federal stuff and its cheap…
I’ve had good times with the Lawman. Federal is good too. They both grouped similar for me. M&P 9, so I don’t even try wwb as long as the others are cheaper or equally priced. UMC .223 put a really bad taste in my mouth so I’ve stayed away for a little while now.
Whatever is cheapest!!!
See above, I noted they are all the same price.
His point is they’re all the same and in the real world they’re not all the same price or available. Buy whatever is cheapest/available and shoot the shit. I’ve won competitions with WWB but that doesn’t mean it’s the best… just what was cheapest. If you can’t shoot it doesn’t matter. If you’re that worried about it hand load your own.
I’ve shot way more Federal and WWB than Lawman and UMC, but that is how I would rank them as well.
This is the real world, they are all the same price and available here…
I’d go in this order:
AE 115
Lawman 115
WWB 115
UMC 115 (anemic and dirty)
Pretty much anything but UMC. The only time I’ve personally had issues with it was in my 9mm AR, but I’ve seen others have issues in their handguns that went away as soon as ammo was switched.
Ditto on anything but UMC. Very underpowered. All have had duds that I have fired.
Just a note on “cheapness” at the 50rd box price. My local Wal-Mart had RWS from Switzerland, 124gr, at $12.97 a box with no limits on how many I could buy. That is comparable to the web prices listed above. It shot well enough for me this past week at class. (The Wal-Mart price on WWB was $13.xx at the 50 rd price)
They are all about the same to me. General plinking etc… Buy whatever they have in stock.
Something about the RWS primers resulted in light strikes with an M&P9 and a tired P229. No issues with a P30 LEM, but I will be avoiding that ammo in the future.
Out of about approx 400 rds shot this past weekend from an M&P 9 with the RWS (bought a few days previously at Wal-Mart), I did have one failure to fire. It looked like a light primer strike when I inspected it. I have not tried it again yet. All the rest worked fine. Maybe harder primers than “normal”?
The other 1030 rds I fired this past weekend was 10 year old AE 115gr from my stash. It all went bang.
I am pretty sure that RWS is a German company. I used to shoot it along with other European ammo when I was there and I don’t recall any problems. I’d say it’s as good as any for just punching paper.
Parent may be in Germany (which is what I had thought as well) but the boxes say “Thun Switzerland” on the side.
I’m lucky I guess,I have a good Friend that has a Dillion,I give him everything he needs, bullets, brass, powder & primers & $30 bucks and he kicks out 1K for me in about a hour
Of course,I have the cost of the components, but its much cheaper than buying 1K of Factory ammo and any price. But I also buy WWB at Wally World for around $24 bucks per 100,decent price by todays standards I guess !! ![]()
