9mm can 300blk data/experience?

I’m set on a socom556 mini for my 14.5" ar but after budgeting, I think I may get a pistol can, 9mm conversion bbl, and 8" 300blk barrel for another rifle first.

This brings me to my question. I want a 9mm silencer to use for 300blk. My research led me to the griffin Rev9. Anyone use one for 300blk? I know it’s subs only, but how do 9mm silencers work in general for 300blk, as quiet as a 762 silencer? My main goal is max suppression on the 300blk and being able to go on the pistol would be great. Is there anything better then the rev9 for both?

The 9mm pistol cans are close to the 30cal Rifle cans on 300subs in performance. Most 9mm cans are lightweight and primarily built with a pistol host in mind and are not all that suited to be abused on a 300blk AR platform rifle with with subs only. The 9mm cans made for subguns are beefier. Market forces have pushed most of the manufactures to rate their cans for 300 subs to follow what everyone else is doing. So typically you can do it and get warranty support when/if it fails.

The Rev 9 is suppose to be a nice pistol can. I don’t see a mention of 300blk sub rating on their website or availability of fixed barrel 5/8-24 adapter for it. With some manufactures you have to run a 5/8x24 to 1/2-28 adapter and a fixed barrel spacer do this. The Griffin may very well include the spacer, I don’t see it being sold. 308s would be better for your application. The Mystic X is popular for the combo roll however it is heavy for pistol use.

Thanks. They mention 300blk use on the Pistons page. My 300 won’t be a high volume gun so I’m not too worried about it. It’s fa rated so should be more than robust enough for my uses.

Sico’s Octane is another option. I have no experience with it in 300blk (only on G17/19 & Scorpoin Evo), but have seen good reviews. Just giving another option, not trying to start an AvsB argument.

Thanks, I’m pretty set on the rev9 due to being able to go short, and the numbers produced as such. I’ll be running it short, probably 100% of the time it’s on the pistol after the first. Thats where it will be most of the time anyways.

Edit to add I want a user serviceable so I can shoot 22.

I’ll second the Octane, I have experience with it and subsonic 300 Black. It’s very quiet and light, I’m sure you will have similar results with the Rev9

Will a 300 Blackout subsonic damage a 9 mm can? If the 300 is subsonic aren’t they running about the same pressures as a 9 mm?

I went with a CMMG 8" 300blk barrel and my Octane 9 HD2 (fixed mount). 220gr. Remington and this has turned into my new Home Defense gun! Very quiet and consistant 3 o’clock ejection after tunning with SLR adj GB!
