9mm Build questions

That is quite interesting. A LGS has their lowers, and I am probably going to order the rest of the parts from G&R. Snag a Colt 9mm upper receiver and Colt 9mm buffer.

CDNN has Glock 33-rounders on sale for $30 now as well.

Awesome price in the G18 mags. G&R has CQ10 glock lowers. i think he said hi price was about $270. https://www.quartercircle10.com I really like the Angst Arms guns too! http://angstadtarms.com They offer a factory SBR.

Being in Wa State I need a factory SBR. Angst Arms is the only one I see that makes one. I don’t like that is doesn’t have a forward assist, shell deflector or dust cover. New Frontiers C-9 with the 45 and 60 degree safety selector is nice to have but not a must. QC10 seems like a good all around and I am sure Grants prices can’t be beat, that side charging upper is attractive.

Need that factory SBR though.

1BallJ,

You posted: Being in Wa State I need a factory SBR.

Is this a Wa State law?

If it is, as I’m guessing, have any idea why?

Thanks!

Quarter Circle 10 also has their bolts on sale for $199 right now.

Abraham,

ATF has decided to interpret the new SBR law that an individual cannot construct an SBR so they have to be factory SBR’s. Rainier Arms is willing to do this but I don’t think they have any 9mm SBR’s. I can import an SBR from outside Wa. State or have one manufactured here from an FFL. I cannot though, manufacture one myself.

Until the language for SBR’s is clarified (most likely in the next legislative session in 2016) this is how it is.

Ok I understand the current law thing. Is this SBR just something that “YOU” want really bad, or is this something that you have determined is the only configuration that will work for you. The reason I ask is I’m using a Complete CMMG 9mm upper and I could not be happier with it, unless they were buying the Ammo to spit out of it. The Barrel is 16" and looks just like every other M forgery currently out there. I’m able to hit the 100yd steel plate with open sights. Including the Complete Upper and all the extra stuff I bought that I probably didn’t need(time will tell)I doubt if I have $900 in the thing and its worth every penny. Of course I put the lower together myself, and no its not a name brand with a warranty, but I doubt anyone would stand out at 100yds and argue with it.

I guess it’s more a want than a need.

I want a 9mm that when I put a suppressor on it I wont be running around with a 20" +/- bbl. I want something short, compact and lightweight that I can run with my Glock.

In all reality I don’t need any of the guns I have except for my BCM and my Glock 17. But, I want. I’d like an SBR (I’ll be doing three soon, a 5.56, 300BLK, and 7.62 Draco) in 9mm and an AR based platform is very attractive. Something sturdier and with more familiar controls than my Kel-Tec Sub2k (which will be going on the EE soon)

SO yes honestly it’s a want, not a need. And if I want it, I’ll need a factory SRB unless Wa. State changes their laws. Do I wait for the next legislative session in 2016 and let 41p to come into effect? I’ve been told it doesn’t matter too much since I live on the East Side of Washington and our county Sheriff is very NFA friendly.

Ok I got it. Well Good Luck and most of all Have Fun.

I like that they’re not there. They’re pretty useless on a 5.56. The 9mm bolt doesn’t even have the groves for a forward assist.
