9" rail on Middy with LowPro GB

A couple of questions on this particular config for HD, training use and overall go-to weapon.

  1. Exactly how big of a gap would you have if you were to put a 9" rail like an Omega X on a middy with a low pro GB?
    Ive seen this config with a 9" Lite Rail in past threads. Though none of the photos were perpendicular to the gap, a portion of the gas tube was noticeably exposed.
  2. How secure is this config for the gastube specifically?
    Granted the LowPro GB is pinned or even a shaved FSB to address rigidity factor.

Go with the 10’ or 12" no worries.

10", 11", or at most, 12"

I’d say the 10.0Lite or VTAC/TROY 11" Extreme are the best choices.

Some 9" rails are designed to go all the way up to the FSB, some are designed with clearance for the handguard cap.

The amount of gas tube exposed would not concern me.
