I would not pay any where close to that price for one.
pretty pricey for an 870 with some doo-dads and a gaudy paintjob.
desert recon?
retarded.
it does look good though ![]()
You could probably do as good or better with a couple of cans of Krylon.
egad, you arent serious are ya?![]()

What’s up with that comp/muzzle brake/hole saw?
its one of them new comp/muzzle brake/hole saws.
No - 870 Expresses with ugly paint jobs!
Those muzzle breaks are for firing breaching rounds.
Or marketing to internet commandos.
Mine just arrived while I was home on R/R. Overall it’s a good looking shotgun. Obviously there are those who don’t like the color scheme and I guess they don’t have to buy one. My only complaint is the powder coating job on the barrel and receiver. It could have been a little better. I topped my gun off with a Surefire forend, Vang comp jumbo head safety, extra power Wolff spring and high-visibility follower. I’ll post a pic soon.
Here is my 870 Tac Recon. The light and tube were painted with Brownells Aluma-Hyde. My FFL added the Scattergun ghost rings and I installed the VC jumbo head safety, Wolff extra power spring and hi-vis follower.
That looks better than the factory pics posted above. Do you think the muzzle break will offer much reduction in felt recoil?
I did not get a chance to fire it due to time constraints and an ammo SNAFU while I was on R/R. I do like the fact that if you desired to use breaching rounds (needed) that you have a stand off. It also screws in/ out so it can be removed. I look forward to being able to shoot it months down the road.
Also, I think Remington would be wise to offer it with a Speedfeed 13" tactical buttstock as well. I personally do not like storing rounds in the butt and never will.
did you buy it at Turners ?
Negative. A friend of mine in Fla. is an FFL. He bought it and sent it to my local FFL.
is that barrel 18 inches with the standoff, or is it an 18 inch + the standoff?
