7.62 vs .308 questions before i start my build.

ok new to .308 and am ready to start one as my winter project. i know the two is not exactly identical etc…
so my concern:
Is it ok to shoot .308 if my LOWER reciever, Charging handle, and BCG is rated 7.62?. My UPPER reciever and Barrel WILL BE .308 rated.

.308 is going to be the hotter ammo. It may run your gas gun too hard.
