What are you using to carry your AR10 or SR25 mags? Looking for something similar to the Eagle M4 FB pouch but for a 7.62.
Ended up having a set of custom ones made for when I’m shooting my battle rifle. Will get photos later tonight.
i’ve using a .308 version of my EMDOM IAP for my FAL mags. it’s not out yet, but should be soon. it’ll fit most other .308 mags including the .308 Pmag.

The Rallyman and DA Gen II will also carry .308 mags. And he makes a .308 micro rig.
We make a Double 7.62 pouch in our Ten Speed line. It’s available and in-stock through our site or our dealer network.

Wow, that looks identical to short Esstac Wedge + KYWI with the seam moved… I hope GAG isn’t planning on making a business on copied designs.
Oh, you mean like the majority of the industry? :sarcastic:
So by this blurp you are admitting that Ghoul Gear does INTENTIONALLY COPY existing gear manufacturers?
An opportunity to not be THAT COMPANY, down the drain.
Whoa, Whoa guys. I am GAG and any similarities are purely accidental. There has been no ill intention on my part. I honestly thought I had a neat pouch set-up there without stepping on anyone’s toes.
There is a reason why I only make things in tiny orders as well. I am not trying to compete with the other guys. I love supporting my fellow DIY’s. I dont ever plan to go into full production but make a few things here and there to fill a need for a buddy or so.
Like my Hydro pouch was influenced by GoGear (dont know where Paul went) but for that I have asked and made my own changes.
Ok guys, sorry to have poop in here. Guess I will just give up sewing since its completely impossible to make something without stepping on toes. gosh…
A USGI M16 3-mag carrier works great for 2 FAL mags. Since they’re only a couple bucks, chop the tops off for easy access if you want something like the Eagle pouches.
guys, as a designer, i know that it’s entirely possible to come up with a design that looks just like someone else’s at the same time due to parallel development. it’s happened to me and just about everyone other designer i know, at some time or another.
i’ve worked on a design, got ready to release it, then discovered something just like it i wasn’t aware of. i certainly didn’t copy it, but arrived at the same conclusion independently. a good example is the EMDOM gunslinger, which converts to a 2 pt sling to 1 pt sling. it was released a couple of months before the magpul MS2 sling came out, but it’s obvious that magpul had been working on it long before then.
if you’re a designer, and listen/observe to the changing needs and trends in the user population, you can anticipate what the next ‘need’ will be, and come up with a design to meet that. the next designer over is doing the same thing, if he’s paying attention, and then it becomes a race to see who gets the product to market first.
we all know the companies that are notorious for copying others. they do it time and time again.
however, let’s give the smaller designers the benefit of the doubt, and not base their entire reputation or product line on a couple of products that might look similar to another designer’s.
I’m not admitting shit as I have nothing to with Ghoul Gear.
Fuck that dude, rock on and best wishes. My post was not intended to slam you or anyone else.
Guys,
As much as it would seem like we’re just trying to slam a little guy (GAG), we were actually standing up for the real little guy in this case, which is Esstac. And for the record, we (SKD) are also considered “little” in this industry, but you get my point.
Stu at Esstac still sews out of his garage, and still relies on his design initiatives and sewing machine to feed his kids- quite literally. MM, unfortunately this isn’t just a case of concurrent design efforts- I’m entirely familiar with that scenario myself and concur with what you were trying to say. And hal_5555, I think to say that any similarities are “purely accidental” is a bit disingenuous.
I’m not saying don’t sew anymore. Heck, I’m not even saying don’t use aspects of other designs- as pointed out previously, it is done all the time in this industry and it is a natural part of design progress. I’m just saying if you’re going sell product, try and make a name for yourself and your brand by first coming out with something unique to establish your brand identity.
Think about guys like Stu and Paul Green- that is what they did- made unique items as their calling card. Once you start selling gear (and it always starts with “tiny orders”), setup a brand and website, and have customers who are bragging about your great kit, you can’t really claim DIY immunity. And once you cross that line into commercial, understand that people also have the right to complain if you just outright copy a singularly unique design that is made by a fellow small custom stop.
The Esstac wedge is recognized the world over as a design made by one dude on an island in Washington, sitting on his sewing machine in a cheaply insulated 2 car garage with a cigarette hanging out of his mouth, while he also plays full-time dad to the 3 kids he has full custody over. This is a guy who is well known in the DIY community, and he has helped countless DIY sewers get their start and even taught people how to make copies of Esstac product for themselves. Heck, I wouldn’t be surprised if he actually gave you advice at some point.
But anyways, in the interests of concluding this discussion in a civil manner, I wont post any more complaints here as we’ve said our piece. Neither Esstac or SKD are “coming after you” or “going legal”. As a fellow small business operator, I wish you the best of luck, and heck, if you get good at what you’re doing and have some original designs, we may even want to discuss carrying your stuff. We actually pay royalties to some folks for using their designs in our PIG line, not because we are legally or contractually bound, but as a matter of respect and decency for someone’s creativity. I’m just saying as a fellow little guy, have the decency to respect another little guy’s unique designs.

without knowing stu at esstac or hal_5555 at GAG; what i wrote was meant in general terms, and applies to conflicts between the ‘little guys’ as well.
if any of you are going to add to this topic, please keep it civil.
I am going to have to agree with P_W on a few things…
I do know Stu and Paul, and they have helped me. Which is why I always push guys who want more than what I offer to them or other custom guys… (or in most cases I just send my guys to you at SDK tac).
I will not get into the things that I made it mine because at this point I think it is mute. however I do also agree with you on this:
You are correct, I think using the word “accidental” is misleading. I should have said it was my take on the few proven designs out there. I have seen and used so many others that I would say that all of those made a impact in how I did it. So yes, I should be more careful.
The part that is missed however, is if I sold those pouches? To answer frankly, I did not. A buddy asked me if I could make something for him, and I did. I sent them to him without wanting or requesting payment. Just friend to friend.
Second, I dont have time to do what Stu and Paul (keeping the same examples) do. My full time job (Army 1SG) is nuts. I will continue to push my guys to get stuff from them and you but will hook up my friends with small pieces if they find a need to fit a niche!
Ok, Please I dont want to have a huge conversation on this thread… If everyone wants we can make a new thread or move to PMs. I think that would be pertinent.
Thanks again!
Since I started this off I just want to echo what Hal said, in that these were made as a test, to run for a Carbine class. I never purchased them, and Hal never implied they’d go on sale, which to my knowledge they haven’t.
Done for a friend. That’s it.
