I saw this picture over on Gearscout early this week. The first thing I noticed was that that is a 7.62 PMag in the magwell. Initially I thought that this might be a Massoud but the more I look at it the more it looks like a 7.62 AR lower but what strikes me is that this looks like plastic, and not aluminium. This reveal is way in advance of ShotShow. What do you guys think?

I thought that at first too, however, the R11’s have a straight cut magwell and this one is angled. Polymer is a guess of mine based on the sharpness of the edges on the magwell lip and on the top, where the detent spring for the takedown pin is situated. It is hard to get such sharp detail like the machining without leaving toolmarks behind and the finishing process to remove the tool marks leaves rounded edges.
Whatever it is, I’d sure like to see more pics.
Gotcha. I saw the angle difference too and thought it may have just been a prototype.
I almost wonder if they are after the M110 contract now that they have an order for some M4’s?
It gets the mind working, doesn’t it? I don’t know if it is a fish-eye effect from the lens or what but did you notice the length of the dust cover (my first clue this wasn’t a Massoud) in comparison to the magwell? Also, the handguard/rail system looks to run all the way to the lower receiver and is modular like that of the latest Remington ACR.
