6920 and LMT

I feel it is.

Yes,

You get what you pay for, not just name and hype

I bought mine from Roger Allen at Midwest Distributors for $1195 shipped. Great price if you ask me.

Sorry, I forgot you wanted a options for purchase.
Try Clyde’s Armory. I got one for $1225.00

Both are very great guns.

The Colt would probably hold its value more, especially after another AWB.

What is the price difference at ?

Agreed. I’m considering buying one or two additional Colts just for investment purposes. I might be able to sell them unfired for double the price if another AWB goes into effect.

Operation and reliability wise your not going to see a difference however with the Colt it will hold its value more but then again it costs more. If your going to use the gun and its not goingt o be a safe queen buy either one.

If you don’t plan on selling it later on, get the LMT. A tad bit cheaper, and IMO, just as good if not better built. Also, you won’t have to deal with those funky-butt FCG pins. Easier to find aftermarket trigger parts for. Just my 2 cents - I think Colts are great rifles, I just think that you pay an extra $100-$200 or so for the name that’s stamped on it… I’ve never been convinced that they are more reliable or accurate than other top tier AR’s. This is not meant to offend any Colt owners, just my opinion.

I’ll chime into this thread, where I normally would not, and offer my very humble opinion.
I own both Colts and LMTs. The difference in costs between both makers base rifles is typically about 15% at retail. Personally, I don’t think this is enough to give consideration to, at this price level.
In all seriousness, LMT makes one damn fine gun. One of the best, in my very unprofessional opinion. I just really like dem’ LMTs…

But… LMT has two problems that they have not overcome;

#1.) LMT is not any better than Colt. It might be as good, but no one has proven it to be better in any way.

And -

#2.) It is not a Colt. Colt is still, and has been, the long standing benchmark of the Stoner design.

If LMT can prove #1, then #2 will no longer matter.

Now, you can try to diminish the standards that Colt is required to adhere to, but at least you can discover what those requirements are, and know what standards your Colt meets, if you care. I just happen to care.
I think LMT follows the TDP very closely and builds a well engineered rifle. But thats just what I think, because there is no way to know what standards they actually follow. For all I know, they could change their standards for every other rifle that comes off the line. Their range of acceptability may be 5%, or 50%. Only their employees know.

Keep in mind that most people that own Colts seldom buy one as their first AR. The majority of Colts, sold to civilians, are bought after the owners spend a little (or lot) of time behind the triggers of lesser rifles.
Given the choice of owning just one rifle (God forbid), I will gladly pay the small difference in up-charge to have a Colt. Like anything else, it’s all just a matter of personal choice.

As a side note: Im not just some Kool-aid drinking fan boy. I learned with, trained with, slept with, ate with, and carried, Colts. In combat and peace. They are not perfect, but I have yet to handle a better, or more confident weapon. I would trust my life, and my team members lives, to a proven Colt, and have.

Good luck in your decision.

I just purchased (2) Colt LE6920s from Knesek Guns, Inc. out of Arkansas. They are top notch and have an excellent friendly staff. Last I knew, they had (2) left that were consecutive serial numbers, which they did not want to break up.

Do you have a web site or contact info for Midwest Distributors?

What did you pay at Knesek?
