I have a bag or 64gr winchester powerpoints that i’d like to load up for coyote hunting. I can’t find any reloading data anywhere for a 64gr bullet. I generally use hogden powders. Anyone have any info or know where i can find it? I hate to guess-load by reducing a 63gr charge. Thanks in advance.
That’s exactly what I’d do. If you have a chrono, (which you should… or have a friend with one) just work your load up from a grain back if you’re un comfortable.
I loaded this round a few years ago; 64 grain Win. PSP 24.5 grains H335 and a C.O.L. of 2.210’‘. Very good accurancy from the 16’’ bushmaster I had at the time. Hope this helps.
Although this info is not for the excact bullet you mentioned, I thought I would share what I use for a similar bullet…I am using 25.5 gr. of TAC loaded to 2.26 with standard CCI primers with the 65gr. sierra gameking( their suggested hunting load in the Sierra AR-15 load data for the 63 grain smp which is what they told me to use over phone) and it is very accurate and has good velocity. It is a pretty hot load however and I would work up to it.
I used 25 gr of H335 @ 2.24 also in a 16 inch.they were decent ,I saved quite a few for stash.need more.
