So I was at Cabelas today looking at their used AR’s and ended up going home with a used AR15 with original box, 20 round mag, carry handle & streamlight TL3 flashlight. I paid $600 plus tax…Hopefully I got a good buy!
Good luck. I don’t think this is the forum for you.
No, you didnt…
That would depend on what you bought.
My experience at the closest Cabela’s to me is that they are fairly proud of their used guns, maybe not as proud as some gun stores I’ve been in, but pretty close.
Based on that, I reckon you got a used AR worth $600.00 in today’s market. You really won’t know until you shoot it for a couple hundred rounds to see it’s function and accuracy.
Although if you told us the make and model plus condition somebody might give a knowledgeable response.
Even if you get a good brand, who knows what the previous owner did to it. Maybe they rammed a steel cleaning rod down the muzzle, who knows?
In the current market there is absolutely NO reason to buy used.
You didn’t say what brand it was so…No doubt, depends on which used AR you got. Could be a great used $600 AR or a POS.
This went south quick, it was a joke guys… I figured you would see my Avatar and at least assume I knew a little bit about AR’s!
I picked up a new in the box unfired Colt LE6920 Law Enforcement roll marked AR. It came with a 30 round Colt mag, 20 round Colt mag and Streamlight TL3 and yes I paid $600 plus tax! I could not get the money out of my pocket fast enough!!!
I know quite a bit about AR’s as I am a part time gunsmith in AZ, but what I don’t know much about is posting pics on here!!!
Your joke fell dead flat but that sounds like a damn good deal to me as a non expert. I’d buy 3 at that price!
While this thread belongs in GD, I think it’s worth noting that this is the second NIB rifle I’ve seen sold at a Cabela’s used gun rack for an unbelievable low price in the past week. The other was MAK90 NIB in the wrap, all accs. for $399.
If you got a NIB 6920 model with the carry handle for $600 than that is about the same type of deal as the Norinco. Thinking I might go check out my local Cabela’s this weekend.

Dang you stole that thing ![]()
I would have tripped over myself to get a blue box carry handle 6920 NIB for $600.
They were asking $799 and at first I decided too pass on it, which even at that price was a good deal. Before we left I thought it would not hurt to ask if there was any room on the price, the guy said let me look at the numbers. He then told me they paid $400 for it, and before I could even think about it I spouted out I would give them $600! He obviously said yes, I could not be happier!!
Facebook attention whoring.
Your thread, it’s just facebook type attention whoring.
In my personal valuation, you doubled your money the moment they took your money. I think fair market value at the moment in salad says is $1200-1400. I’d have bitten at $799 like a fool not knowing they haggled.
The blue box Colts were from a different time at Colt. Personally speaking, I’d pay $1200 for a carry handle 6920 vs. $900-1000 for a current 6920 easily. You just don’t see those come up very often anymore, let alone at that price.
If you compared that blue box with a current model 6920 then this thread would belong in this particular sub forum for example. However because your simply showing off a new rifle, it’s not a technical thread, or topic, and belongs in General Discussion imo.
Its called a joke…many of you guys need to calm down and laugh once in a while!! The point of my post was to show that every once in a while we can find great deals on great rifles!
Way to serious on this site sometimes…the funniest part is that most of you on here have no idea what it really takes to use one of these firearms in real situations, yet you act like you know what is best for said combat or real use!
Calm down…mall ninjas!
I always buy used and mostly police trade ins. Half the price…at least. In 20 years I haven’t had a problem. HKs and older Sigs under $400. Severall Glocks just under $300. The last 6920 was a little over $500. I buy used if I can help it.

Assuming you this isn’t a late night troll post, you did well. I probably need to stop by there more often and see what’s happening.

It all depends on the Cabela’s. I live within walking distance of one in Texas. I stole an old Winchester Model 70 in .223 for $200 cash.
But I have also seen beat up rifles for more than the cost of one NIB. The prices at the Waco Cabela’s are always high on their used guns.
But I got a S&W 640 in really nice shape for $300 here. A Winchester Model 12 shotgun made in 1928 was $300.
It all depends.
