6.8 Fans - New Mag from D&H

Just thought all the 6.8 SPC fans would like to know that 44mag.com has a new shipment of D&H 6.8 magazines in stock.

I’m hoping the quality and reliability will be there, but we’ll see. I’m tired of the quality mag = $40 thing.

good find, thanks for the heads up.

Just a quick update… You may want to hold off on ordering. Early reports of these mags have been less than favorable. Not speaking from personal experience, but I have two inbound and will report my findings shortly.

D&H is also supposed to provide an update sometime early next week.

Received mine yesterday, haven’t had a chance to shoot them yet but I can say that I tried one in my receiver and it seated without issue and dropped freely when releasing the mag. I had seen reports of folks saying it was very snug in their receivers on insert and had to be yanked out on reloads ( I had no such issues with my SI Defense Billet lower.)
I won’t get a chance to shoot the weapon until I attend my AR class on the 23rd, but I will post up some impressions after running the mags a bit.

Early reports I’ve seen posted on forums say the magazines have problems with rounds binding on load past 17 rounds, and if you try to load to 25, big time FTF and rounds bindings in magazine preventing the magazine from seating in the receiver. I am in California ATM so won’t be able to test above 10 rounds, but I have some LE friends I will shoot with on the 24th and they can evaluate the 25 rounders we purchased for them at that point.

Not a magazine issue, but I was unable to get my Magpul Ranger plates attached to these either ( could have been user error it was almost 3 am, and I was tired.)

On a positive note hamlundtactical.com wrote to advise me of the issue ( and offered a full refund if I did not wish to wait for a resolve from D&H,) so kudos to them for being on the ball about this. I will wait a week or two and see if D&H can sort it out, they have a pretty good rep.

I’ll post shooting impressions after I have a chance to load and cycle these mags through a couple of rifles on the 23rd/24th of this month. The Magazine body seems to be well made and strong, with decent finishing and no sharp edges that I noticed, spring & green Magpul 6.8 follower included in kit.
