Got a kid on the way and was bought a badass LBT-1476J 3 Day Pack in MAS Grey to serve as my “diaper” bag. (I told my mother in law, no thank you I dont want a Petunia Pickle Bottom diaper bag, I want a pack that I can use when I dont have to carry diapers anymore and LBT had a great fathers day sale)
Anyway Grey seems to be the new Kryptek, which was the new multicam, which was the new . . . Oh hell you get the picture, I just didnt want camo although the PALS webbing will probably stick out to those in the know.
Does anyone know how well MAS Grey matches the other new grey’s on the market like ArcTeryx Wolf, or SDU Grey?
I’m a big fan of gray and have several bags in it, but am behind on what the labels for the shades are and how they compare. There seems to be less deviation between them than the greens and browns/tans and all my bags look about alike.
Let me look through the drive and see if I have some pics. In the interim, someone else can likely offer more.
Thanks for the input guys seems no one has much firsthand info yet, i will post pics when it comes in (supposedly I cant actually have it until AFTER the baby shower, stupid) and try to compare it to some things.
I was wondering what the title had to do with gear - was almost afraid (intrigued? excited?) to click and read something about a couple of riggers belts, cobra buckles, 550 cord, zipties and lots and lots of Mace… Oh don’t forget the 100 MPH tape…
The wife and I are expecting our first in July and I too am using a 3-day pack as my diaper bag… I have a bunch from a couple years ago when Natchesz was blowing out Eagle Industries molle packs for 70 bucks (most are the DO made ones though).
Personally I wouldn’t lump Ranger Green in with the Grays. I bought a ton of Ranger Green gear without seeing the actual color in person, and was sorely dissapointed to see that it looks nothing like pictures on the internet. For some reason it photographs a lot more gray in pictures, but in real life, it’s just a more subdued OD green.
