FYI, I called Larue recently asking about the Pred and got some better information than what Ive heard here.
- I was told they expect the gun to shoot 1MOA out of the box, but degrade to 2-3 MOA quickly as the bbl heats up .
- The 10k rounds thing is just what they say about the barrels, but they have demo guns past 30k that still shoot near 1MOA but to expect it to open up to 2-3 sometime after that…

I dont think it is odd that I am comparing them… I posted this thread because both are high quality and come highly reccomended to me from some industry professionals and gun shop owners of the stores I buy guns from… However, I came to this forum to get the opinions of the masses simply because I didnt know a lot about the larue and only knew a bit more about the BCM. I wanted to see what information or experiences people had to give on one vs the other… However with the barrel life being a big deal it is beginning to seem like one of the BCM hammer forged barrels is going to be the best options for my needs… If anyone has any further information on good or bad experiences with either rifle I would love to hear them… This is an important decision because this is going to be my rifle for the next few years…

I found that info kind of surprising given the interweb hubbub about the fragility of SS pencil barrels. Dano (a SME here) also posted some positive comments about the PredatAR in a previous thread.

LaRue uses billet materials in their assemblies. They have very high tolerances and are known for precision rigs. BCM is more of a fighting rifle company so to speak. LaRue customer service is hands down the best I’ve encountered. I’ve order two upper from BCM, and both have been blemished upon receiving them. Customer service, while quick, was not helpful. They made me pay for shipping both ways to replace a bbl that was scratched through the parkerizing. I’d say LaRue and BCM are a bit apples and oranges giving above, but I will hands down purchase a Noveske or Daniel Defense over BCM any day of the week, month, or year. And in no way am I saying that BCM doesn’t produce quality rifles, because they do. This is my personal opinion.

In purely practical terms the real difference is the LW50 SS barrel vs. the BCM chrome lined.
I have both, and the Lothar Walther LW50 is significantly more accurate than a mil spec chrome lined barrel approx 0.5-0.75MOA vs. 1.25-1.75MOA. A more accurate carbine is a faster carbine…
The rest of the stuff is mostly cosmetic as both carbines should run 100%
