Single action did not seem to slow them down very much! Wonder how someone with a DA wheelgun would fare?

I have a FA 454 just like the one they used and it’s a handful for sure. Would be fun to try that’s for sure. BTW there is just a bit of sarcasm in that last statement.

I might try it with my giant snubby/ruger alaskan. Recoil isnt bad with the hogue tamer grips (theres even a blue foam insert in the backstrap area. Still takes a bit to recover from the muzzle flip though.
I havent shot S&W’s lightest .357, bet those are a lot more painful than a suitably heavy wheelgun in .454.
I wonder what ammo is being used? There’s a big difference in muzzle flip between fast 240gr bullets at 100 fps and 360gr bullets at 1500fps. The 240’s sting but don’t have as much movement.

Roger has come out with a Super Blackhawk Bisley in both 480 and 454. I’ve got one on order in 454 and will fire both 454 and 45LC through it. Can’t wait to get it in and put a few rounds down range with it.
Man I love my Freedom Arms but that Ruger Super Blackhawk Bisley would have gotten my $$$ if it were offered 4 years ago.
Might have to pick one up anyway. Might be time for the Freedom to undergo conversion to a .475 Linebaugh.
I had a Freedom Arms also but ended up selling it to help fund my LMT MWS purchase. I’ve always liked the Super Blackhawk and now that it comes in 454 I’ll be able to get back into that game at more than half the cost of a FA
I don’t own a 454 but I can do it with a 44 mag in 3 seconds from a holster. And I’m not as fast as some others I know.
The 475 is fun as long as you are reloading for it as factory fodder is almost unobtainable (buffalo bore is the only one I’ve seen) @$55 a 20box. The 454 is available but @ $2 a round, my cheap ass will reload for it. Bullets are avaiable for the 475, molds are slowly coming out. Got a 325 wfngc and a 420 wfn/380hpgc getting cut right now. Casting 310 and 325 wfngc in 452 since ya can’t go local and find the bullets on the shelf. I want to try some HS6 with 400sfor about 1150-1200 for 475 range fodder.
Just missed a premier 5" on GB this afternoon. Jumped out @ $1950. The 7.5s are just too long. I’ve got a Ruger Bisley 7.5 that I’ve been contemplatining a barrel chop/swap and can’t justify the money hence the FA 454 4.75 quest.
Not to worry friend, I reload for about everything I shoot now other than rim fires.
If you own a revolver and don’t reload for it you’re missing out, if you own a big bore revolver and don’t reload for it then you might as well sell it off in my opinion.
I’d love to try it, I’m thinking 5 seconds from leather should be doable. With a single action army in .45 Colt it can be done in 2 seconds without too much trouble.
I wish they would come out with a 5.5" barreled version.
Same here. I have a SBH Bisley in 45LC with a 5.5" barrel and really like it. I have a SBH in the 454 coming soon and I’ll shooting for a couple of months before I decide to have the barrel cut down or not.
