40" or 44" bag for DDXV

I’ve tried looking up the overall length of the DDXV and I get a lot of different detentions. Ive seen anywhere from 32" to 37 1/2" inches. Do yall recommend getting a bit longer (say the 44") or would I be good with a 40"? I’d prefer there not be a lot of room for the rifle to move around much in there. The rifle is just stock right now. Thanks

AR with 16" barrel and collapsible stock should fit in as small a case as 36". I keep this in a 36" case:
