308 dise?

Getting ready to odder some dies for my 308 gas gun and i’m going back and forth on dies. Pay the price on small base X dies or get the (lee-pacesetter 3 dies set) do i need(really) to get small base dies for my 308 gas gun?? Thanks guys!!

You’re probably fine with standard full length sizing dies. If you want more than just bulk ammo accuracy, Buy competition dies the first time.

For bulk ball ammo, the dillon carbide are nice. I just sold a brand new set to a guy on this site because we wanted to do accuracy loads. So some guy got a smoking deal on brand new carbide dies.

When did they start makeing carbide dies for rifle round?? Never heard of-one, i’ll have to look at Dillons dies. Thanks anyhow!!

I’ve had my .223 carbide dies for like 15 years.

Markm: you said for better accuracy results get the competition dies. I bought RCBS Small base .223 dies in the black case. I’m getting some very accurate loads outta them but I’m always looking to improve. Since I have no reference to compare to: do you think those are decent dies for accuracy? If not, what would u recommend that would be more accurate but also remain reliable in a semi?
