So I have a bunch of CMMG metal 308 magazines (20 rnd) made for what I thought was SR25/MWS/DPMS rifles. They look high quality. So I tried these in a few different rifles the other day and they will not snap in with bolt forward and when the bolt is pulled back they do click in, but the bolt now gets jammed halfway into it’s forward travel, making me remove the magazine. I have never seen this problem before with any magazine. The two rifles tried were the SR25 and MWS. So are these magazines designed only for a DPMS rifle? Anyone have any ideas what is going on with this? Are these usable or do I have 15 paper weights?
Does it work OK with 19rds in it? The ones that were made for DPMS were being sold as 19rd mags because 20 was too tight and caused problems like you describe.

They don’t even work with no rounds in them. They fail to click in with the bolt forward and when they snap in with bolt open the bolt will not close with the magazine in. All this is with no ammo. Never encountered this issue before. The mags appear to be top quality with stainless follower, but this is weird.
Got my answer from CMMG. The metal mags are designed to work in DPMS and CMMG lowers, not SR25/ MWS/ MRP or probably Larue either. Beware of this when buying these.
