I have a dpms 308 with an A2 buttstock. If I put on a slip-on recoil pad the length of pull is too long. All the adjustable buttstocks I see advertised would correct the length of pull (I need something not more than 13.5) but they don’t seem to have a credible recoil pad, just a heavy piece of hard rubber. Cost is not that important, but fit is. I want to use the rifle at a local competion, which consists of 20 rds off hand at 100 yds, and 20 rds from the bench. So something with adjustable length of pull, cant, cheek piece would probably be the best. Any ideas out there. Suggestions would be appreciated.
Cavalry Arms makes a A1 length stock which is 5/8" shorter. You could also go to a collapsible stock which would be shorter still. Depending on what buffer and spring you currently have in your rifle you make need to buy a new one. The DPMS 308s with collapsible stocks use a short buffers and springs (these aren’t 223 buffers and springs).
