I just completed my 300 whisper (actually a 300/221) build and I am in need of a scope that will have enough adjustment (drop?)for the pretty short range that I will be shooting it. probably under 150 yards at most.
I am going to use sub sonic ammo exclusively.
what would you recommend?
You may want to look into the Pride Fowler scopes. The 22lr models have a reticale that is set up for the 22lr. The ballistics for a subsonic 200-240 gr 30 cal Sierra MK or GK are pretty similar to a super sonic 22lr

For only 150 I wouldn’t worry. Dig out the old thread on the Whisper and you’ll see the drop kicks in at longer range. It won’t shoot quite as flat as a .223, but any scope or RDS should work OK.
Zero any sight at 104 yards and you can shoot from 0 to 120 yards with a ± 3.5 inch trajectory. This is with a Sierra 220 at 1010 fps.
With 110 grain ammo you can zero at 220 yards (about 200 meters) and shoot out to 256 yards with no scope adjustment and be ± 3.5 inches.
