Where did it all go…
…can find any other caliber, but NONE of these two???
Not even a trickle, now & then…like extinct?
We can only hope, my Child! ![]()
Hope what?
I found 300BLK yesterday at Freedom Munitions in Houston. $50 for a box of 50! The ONLY reason I bought it was to get my rifle on paper, now I’m moving on to reloads as was planned when I built this gun.
The ammo from Freedom is not accurate at all; OAL is around 1.990… way too short if you ask me. Plus it’s 223 converted brass, not 300BLK, but on the bright side, it’s that much less brass I have to convert over.
My advice: buy powders, primers, and bullets whenever you find it and buy the reloading equipment later.
Does anyone think this caliber or .300 Whisper will ever be made in “bulk” amounts at reasonable prices again…or is it dead-in-the-water…along with my expensive .300 ACC upper & lower build?
Yes it will eventually. The .300 Blk was just starting to catch on/catch up when the great panic of 2012 hit. When the madness is sorted out, it will be fine.
To answer the original question - its all on gunbroker. There seems to be thousands of rounds available there if you are willing to pay too much.
Markm, just like LWRC :p, doesn’t like the .300 blk.
I was reading a magaazine on the blackout and in the intro they had a quote from the LWRC folks stating they were not going to get into the .300 BO market. See markm, you guys think alike ![]()
woa woa woa, wait a second. Forget the future of .300, you can find every other caliber? What magical realm do you do your shopping? I’m on my last pound of powder.
OP your in the same boat everyone else is that didn’t prepare! If you don’t even have a rifle yet why you worried about ammo? Until some sanity comes back to the market it will be this way- either pay way to much for 300 Blk or get into reloading thats your options! I got into reloading right away for it as I’ll not pay $1 plus per round for any ammo! Never!
I DO have rifle or rather DD upper and a complete lower…
…I did not prepare…for THIS caliber because I only bought it in mid Dec., and ammo was around, but I was focusing on loading up on mags and guns, with a possible “BAN” looming…no one was really threatening the ammo and there was no shortage yet.
In February, I managed to buy nine boxes of CorBon .300 Whisper at WWG, at $25.a box / 20 and that is the last I have seen?
I see that Remington had .300 ACC at $11.99 / 20 …hope they bring it back???
Well if your not reloading- then your options are buy the way over priced stuff of GB or other sites or just keep looking at the normal ammo places and grap any you see if the price is exceptable. Atleast you have some brass if you go the reloading route!![]()
Yep…bullets & components for .300 ACC / Whisper …should be the same (except cases, of course) as many .30 caliber bullets …correct.
Should be plentiful?
Yes?
Better look into some presses & such…the time has come, should be fun too?
Reloading is what you make it. It has the potential to be a lot of fun. There was never an abundance of cheap .300 Blk ammo before the panic so reloading for the blackout makes a lot of sense either way.
The bullets can be the same although there are some purpose built bullets for the blackout. Powder and primers will be different from the other .30’s.
Powder I understand…why the “primers”?
I have 600 rounds that I bought from Dans Ammo. Bought them just before the great panic so I thought it would be a good idea to hang onto them. However I will buy ammo again, Dan’s Ammo is within driving distance so I can call them up and if they have 300 BO in stock I get to take a nice drive to Santa Barbara. Below is the 300 BO ammo page from their site.

.300 Blk will use small rifle primers - other .30’s will use large rifle.
Didn’t R Silvers promise on his life that there would be TRUCKLOADS & RAILCARS of $12 a box 300 Crapout available? Maybe Mister Mxyzptlk can round some up in the 5th dimension for you.
Translate into English, please…???
There was. Then I and many others bought it all up and the shitstorm happened and primers powder and brass all went to the Feds like every other NATO/LEO caliber.
I see…those pesky “FEDS” again…
…next time I see crazy uncle “SG Joe”, Feinstein & Napolitano at the range…will ask them about that?:stop:
