.300 BO barrel with a switchblock?

I looked at Noveskes website and they only offer the switchblock on their 5.56 and 6.8 barrels. I’m interested in one cause I think a .300 BO subsonic, suppressed firing in single shot mode would be the ultimate in quite.

Anyone make one?

Another thing I think would be great would be a non reciprocating charging handle like on the LWRC REPR. It would allow more positive hand cycling during single shot mode.

I really like the side charging handle anyways as it is much easier to work malfunctions.

For right now I’d settle for a switch block if someone makes one. Any ideas?

I’m a Noveske dealer and I have been wanting to build a Noveske 300 upper for a while. They make a switchblock for their AR10 barrels, so I’m assuming that the same size would fit the 300 BLK barrels.

I was wondering about that but I didn’t know if gas ports on the block were the same or if it mattered.

You can special order a 16" with a Switchblock. I would expect a slight decrease in the sound to the shooter and no difference in sound at 10ft by turning the gas off.

There is no practical use for the Switchblock on the 300 BLK as suppressed cyclic rates do not increase nearly as much as a 5.56 does, so it’s not something we plan to catalog or make the special rail for the shorter lengths.

The gas tube to bore is greater on the N6 so the Switchblock is taller, the 300 BLK uses the same Switchblock as the 5.56 does.

Really, you don’t think it would be anymore than around 10 feet before you couldn’t tell the difference without the bolt slamming back and forth?

I guess…I just have never fired an AR based rifle suppressed that was shooting subsonics. The ballistic crack is always louder than the rifle cycling anyways.

Well anyways, good info, thanks.

I can attest to this. I recently shot a co-worker’s 10" Noveske with YHM can attached. It was louder shooting it than it was standing a few feet away while shagging brass.

I have the 10" Noveske 300 BLK barrel in an upper I built and in about a month I should have my stamp for my AAC 762 SDN can. I too was concerned about not having the switch block like I have my Noveske 6.8 12.5" upper, but I think that Todd and others have posted comments on why it’s really not necessary.

I can tell you that my rifle cycles the Remington Subsonic just fine without a can.

Also, JP Rifles now make an upper receiver with a non-reciprocating side charging handle combined with a standard charging handle called the PSC-11

Now that J&P is perty cool.

$900 though?

Freakin ouch.
