300 blk vs 5.56 in AR Pistol

wondering if there is a meaningful difference in 300BLK vs 5.56 without a suppressor in pistol length barrels. Specifically the amount of flash and noise vs the 5.56 (both the sub sonic and supersonic 300blk).

All videos on the 300 blk in short barrels are with suppressors.

Looking to build a trunk ar pistol as PDW, but would like to go with the one with less noise (unsuppressed).

Thanks

Yes, it has more energy from a 9 inch barrel than M855 from an M4.

Also less powder, and so has to equal less blast and flash.

It is much better for an AR pistol.

5.56mm in a pistol is insanely loud.

.300 AAC Blackout has me interested. I’m a 5.56 and .308 guy, but, for a SBR that would be my first NFA firearm this seems like a good choice. My only question, is the AK platform as ‘‘sensitive’’ to suppressor use as the AR platform? After reading the threat Grant posted ‘‘The Best SBR EVER!’’ I’m a bit worried.

AK’s don’t suppress well because the piston vents gas which bypasses the silencer. So you can only get about 15 dB suppression. So they end up at about 150 dB.

A 300 AAC BLACKOUT AK is about 140 dB - a lot better than a regular AK, but not as good as an AR.

Grant’s thread was about a suppressed sbr in 5.56…

One in 300 BLK is entirely different. It will not take the same amount of tweaking to get it shooting smoothly and with very little gas blowback.

Come on LMT… Release a 300 BLK barrel for the MRP - and soon!
