I’m looking for a barrel for my new build. Has anyone built a 300BLK with a low profile adjustable gas block that’s pinned on? I’d like to use both sub and supersonic ammo unsuppressed.
I’m thinking of the DD 16" 200BLK S2W CHF (if I can find one).
If so, please let me know which mfg you picked. Thanks.

I cant say I have seen anybody who is making a pinned adjustable gas block for anything. Doesnt mean it doesnt exist, I just havent seen pinned ones.
The good thing about a 16" barrel with carbine gas is that, according to RSilvers, you cant over gas that setup so a lot of guys are opening up the gas port to .125(the same diameter as the gas tube) and rocking out.
However I dont personally think thats necessary. If you buy a high quality barrel you shouldnt have issues running supers and subs unsuppressed so no need for an adjustable gas block. 300blk is a different animal than 5.56 so lots of stuff you thought you “needed” for 5.56 doesnt equate in the 300blk world. I have run supers and subs through my 9" AAC barrel unsuppressed with no issues. Running an H buffer and standard carbine spring. Most carbine guys are running C buffers and standard springs as that is what AAC spec calls for. AAC calls for SBR’s to run an H2 buffer and standard spring, but so far my H buffer has been working well. I may grab an H2 just to mess with though.
Now if you buy a cheap ass no name barrel from a company that doesnt know what they are doing i.e. most of them offering 300blk barrels, then you may run into issues. When you read around 300blktalk.com you dont see to many people having issues with Noveske, AAC or Daniel Defense. However there are a bunch of other manufacturers of barrels and you do read a lot about guys having issues with them. There is a reason the Noveske, AAC, or DD uppers cost $1000+ and the cheap ass one’s cost $350.
The Wilson Combat barrels have been trouble free as well. I love mine and find it to be very accurate.
OP, why not just buy the barrel of your choice and have an adjustable gas block of your choice pinned on by someone reputable like ADCO or Rainier Arms?
The point of 300BLK is that you aren’t supposed to need an adjustable gas block for subs or supers, suppressed or not.

Completely pointless on a 16" Car gas 300 BLK with any normal ammo. Maybe for a competition gun shooting the heavier supersonic loads for MPF.
The reason I was thinking I needed an adj gas block is because while looking at Rainier Arms’ site the Noveske one suggested it, “The Noveske 300 AAC BLACKOUT is NOT designed to cycle the action with subsonic ammunition unless a silencer is attached.”

I’ll head over to the 300BLK and see what gas port size should be to have 1 barrel do both since silencers aren’t legal in Kalifornia.
As for shooting 300 in sub - just for fun. I know its pointless but one could always dream of having a can on the end…
The noveske barrel has a pistol gas system. I think I read something about pistol length on the longer barrels was or could be an issue.
There is no issue with pistol length gas on longer barrels. There is only an issue when companies use the incorrect gas port size.
Our current stainless 16" 300 BLK is pistol gas. It has a closer cyclic rate between subsonic and supersonic than carbine gas.
We chose to make the carbine gas barrel with a slightly smaller port for subsonic with a silencer. This keeps the cyclic rate of supersonic with a silencer slightly lower. Both gas systems with a 300 BLK have a more reasonable cyclic rate suppressed than a 5.56 suppressed, so we do not need to use our Switchblock.
Our chrome lined 300 BLK is a carbine gas system, with the slightly larger port for subs without a silencer.
