300 Blackout, what is the most popular barrel length

I am about to take the plunge and having a Cyclone available to silence the barrel I am curious as to what might be my best choice, and why so?

Thanks

16 inch is the most popular.

Anything from 6-16 would be a good length.

I don’t know which length you would prefer.

9" or 10" if you’re happy with SBR status, 16.0" if not. Nothing wrong in between those lengths but (edit: see rsilvers post below for better information). This cartridge is dying for a 14.5" barrel with a permanently attached suppressor mount muzzle device - hint, hint, HINT to manufacturers.

Well, a 16 inch barrel has an extra 90 yards range compared to a 9 inch barrel. Meaning, at 90 yards, the velocity from a 16 inch matches the muzzle velocity from a 9 inch.

As for 14.5 - I am sure some company will do that. We don’t like perm attachments as you cannot service / clean the crown or service/swap the gas block. I would rather be able to do all these things and get the extra 1.5 inches of velocity and put up with the 1.5 inches more of OAL.

Thanks for the replies, I feel that with the Cyclone mounted a shorter barrel is called for, and do not mind the SBR status for the lower.
