3-9x40 Leupold Firedot?

I’m thinking of a Leupold 3-9x40 Leupold Firedot with LaRue QD mounts this year, and adding a T-1 in a LaRue QD angle mount later. I think at close quarters the 3-9 at 3x will be not too useful, and that the T-1 will fill that up close and personal need fairly well. Goes on a Bushmaster 16" with LaRue 10" 4 rail forearm. Ideas? Comments? Help?? Especially the moderators would be appreciated, but none will be overlooked or discounted. Thanks, folks.

Just looked at the MK VI today. The field of view is pretty narrow and the eye relief was unforgiving. Fine for some applications, not acceptable on a battle rifle in my opinion. The 1-6 was much better in these regards.
